I think ur discussion is more around boots, which is why I share my story from 2000, good Kevlar jeans and a well vented jacket is good for the road...

Boots are a must... The bumpers on cars are the perfect hight to damage the lower leg and foot... Remember stoners crash damaged his foot and ankle...

Ban all cars and trucks, heheheheheheh!

Ride safe and live fast!

Well, I meant pants and boots. I'm all set from the waist up. I appreciate your input, thanks.

I did not want to start another thread on similar topic:

Those of you who ride in Full leathers, how/best way to carry your stuff like a wallet?

I am thinking about doing leather 2 pcs.

I have Sidi full boots and they are great for tracks but to ride around in street is maybe too bulky? I am thinking Dainese IN boots should be better even when you decide to wear jeans.

I just can't come around to wearing leathers all the time, although I know they're safest. I have the Axial Pro IN and really like them. Best boot I've had as far as comfort and the foot/ankle/lower shin is well protected. I also have the BMW City 2 pants with CE armor knee/hips and lots of pockets to carry small stuff. Otherwise, I wear my Kriega to carry more although, I'd prefer to ride without it.

Forcefield Pro Pants

I know many riders wear leathers and essentially track gear while riding on the street, others not so much. I'd rather not wear leather pants and race boots, so I'm wondering what others use instead, but are able to still stay reasonably protected in a fall.

Right now, I'm using the BMW City 2 pants that has some minimal armor for hips and knees and a material that is supposedly on par or possibly exceeds Kevlar. I also have the Dainese Asphalt shoes. I do wear a Dainese jacket and of course full-face helmet, also Held titan gloves.

I'd like to get shoes/boots that have more protection, but are comfortable and I can walk in. I was thinking of these AS SMX-5.

I was also thinking of getting jeans and using these underneath. Forcefield Pro pants. Any opinions or reccomendations welcomed. Thanks.

About the Forcefield Pro Pants, they're great! I wear them under--loose-fitting--jeans to ride in the summer and under some Rev'it leather/textile pants for winter.

I took out the padding/armor that was redundant. So if you have gear with knee or hip protection already, you can take those out of the Forcefield Pro Pants.

(I use them for skiing, too, since they're full of protection.)

Only problem is, if you're wearing tighter gear, they're a bit bulky, but nothing I haven't been able to deal with.

I picked up the Forcefield shorts, Forcefield zeus knee protectors and the AGV kevlar jeans. Pretty comfortable, I went one size up in the jeans and they fit over everything.

I wear the Dainese Axial Pro In's - albeit not all the time for street riding. When I know Im going to be spirited, I wear them. I should wear them more.

The fit great over jeans and aren't too noticeable really. They are wide looking down on them. They fit great and are as comfortable as I imagine carbon fiber reinforced heal protection boots could be.

Pricey but top of the line.

+1 wear them also. Comfortable and clean look with all the protection inside the boot. Not much stuff hanging off the boot to scratch your bike or to catch on to something.

Not a fan of the barely-over-the-ankle style of riding boot. Just want to have more protection going up the leg so that I've got shin armor that extends up to the armor in my leather lower's knees.
Problem is that where I am, it gets really hot/humid in summer so the higher/calf lenght style boot with shin armor is problematic.
With that in mind, I recently got a pair of these SIDI Cobra Air boots.
Very light. Nicely ventilated. Initially stiff. But after wearing only a few hours have broken in comfortably. Have hard armor in all the right places (ankle plates, heel plates, shin armor, toe sliders) but breathe/ventilate very nicely. The ankle/toe/heel plates are replaceable (screwed on, not velcro'd - which is nice).
Waiting for dealer to get in a pair of SIDI ....-Tex Armada (backlogged in my size until mid-may) for sport-touring/weekend/week-long trips. Hoping they'll turn out to be as useful/long-lasting as my 20 yr-o pair of AlpineStar Gortex's.
And anyone thinking of new boots here in SouthEast/Atlanta area, check out the guys at Rider's Hill in Dahlonega. They made me great deals on both pairs of SIDIs.

If you know anyone that works in CycleGear, they employee discounts are very hefty on Forcefield gear. I will post pics of my fresh gear arrival tomorrow:D

 $610 jeans! I hope they're nice :D

Those shoes look pretty cool though.

they are leather that looks freakishly similar to denim. they are stronger than any other jean-like alternative and as such the price to pay for looking casual yet somewhat safe(r).

designer jeans these days cost from $200-400 easy, so looking at it that way, the Kushitani's aren't that bad....but yes def pricey....

i have a couple pairs of the Kushitani jeans (perf and no perf). They do look freakishly like jeans which is why I have them. Most people can't tell and it doesn't stand out at all when being worn. I generally wear the FF pants and strap on some knee protectors (Dainese or FF) underneath.. The pants are expensive but stunningly good looking. .

I'm a huge Kushitani fan though as I think they have the best leather out there - just usually don't recommend it as its also very difficult to get and out of most people's price range.
