Street jeans?

a bit OT, but the BMW coverall suit may be an option, not as "hot" as the pic above, but safe and dry ;)

Anyone have some tips on some street jeans? Looking to find a pair of reinforced jeans for street usage. Something I can street ride with and not worry about messing up my legs in a crash, but won't look like a weirdo going out in public with them on.

Safety before fashion. Don't really care if people think I'm some kind of weirdo for wearing leather lowers instead of jeans in public. It's my butt that'll be hurting if I go down - not theirs.
I've crashed too many times and had leather save me to ever trust anything else to deliver same amount of protection.
Hat's off to you if you're brave enough to trust abrasion resistance of kevlar. Not something I'm willing to do.

compacc.com sliders all the protection less the brand name price check them out

I have a pair of Shift Racing Torque jeans. They're comfortable but run a size small. Unfortunately, I don't think they make them anymore? I've also here good things about Sartso riding jean, but I don't have a pair.

about 7 years ago I went down in a pair of draggin' jean at about 35mph in a right hand turn, the jeans ripped where the foot peg went through on my lower pant leg, but the kevlar did its job and held up, I was wearing the CE knee pads also. not a scratch on my legs.

Me, I wear these

Dainese D6 Kevlar Jeans
+ these

Forcefield Limb Tubes

The D6s are denim woven with kevlar yarn, with kevlar patches at the knees. What I like is they don't look like I stole them from Farmer Bill with huge conspicuous patches. Gotten a lot of compliments on them.

i thought i had seen these before as well until i went to order them on the website. the merchant is calling them a preorder and says n/a until summer. maybe it's just "new" to them; know of any other place to get them from today? been looking for these since last year but they have always been oos...with everybody on the web in practically every size. maybe revzilla is finally getting some in; however, from reading the other posts, it appears there are lots of other good jeans options to explore.

It is always good to look around and do a little research. I don't know what the quality is of the other motorcycle jeans. I am very happy with mine.

They may say pre-order if they are awaiting the 2013 Dainese line. If your having trouble getting them then you can contact Dainese SF Motorcycle, Bicycle, Ski and Snowboard Apparel & Protection | Dainese D-Store San Francisco the manager is called Mike.

Disclaimer: I do not receive any commission from Dainese and as far as I know they have no idea who CaliDuc is ;) Best we keep it that way

I have looked at a lot of these jeans and the Bull-It jeans lasted the longest in the abrasion tests at 7.42 seconds and only kevlar jeans to pass Level 2 CE standards. They don't look half bad either. But I don't see a price??

This is from a post I made on another forum almost exactly 1 year ago. It is the result of a 30-40ish lowside on my s1000rr.

The jeans are Shift Kevlar reinforced btw. The hole is in the non-reinforced part. But at you can see was sliding on my knee and thigh. Most disturbing is this but not for the reason you think...

That's impact damage, not rash. What arrested my slide was the curb. Two days prior to the crash I was at Revzilla looking for the Forcefield Limb Tubes I now wear but they were out of stock. To add insult to injury, they came in the day after.

The Shift jeans held up well in the lowside. Well enough that I feel comfortable wearing kevlar jeans during commutes and riding around town.

What hurt the worst was the frame cracking on my 3 month old s1k thanks to the curb (or maybe the sidewalk where she finally stopped). 1 month and a $8k repair bill (insurance covered).

The impact should have broken my leg but didn't (thanks shoulder angel :) ). Hence the limb tubes

Holy crap, they didn't total a cracked frame?!

The good news is lot of this blam e is the s1000rr. it has been proven in real-world tests, that the lopsided headlights can throw the bike off balance and cause it to crash. You should be worry free on the Panigale.

Nope. They just ordered a new one from Germany. 3 weeks of the repair was waiting for the frame.

Naw the service manager told me the secret: the rider has to squint with one eye and the body will naturally counterbalance :D
