taking the mirrors on and off were a complete pain. even w/ the aftermarket Lux replacements and the front fairing off, the wire routing is very difficult.

totally with you Mark. I've had the fairings etc, off this thing many times and all i can think of while doing so is Duc techs don't get paid enough.

it seems to be not be by design, but rather due to the design, but i'm totally with you.

Have you taken off the front or had the dealer replace the screen/instrument cover? Sounds like the right side wire was miss routed and is being pinched. I've had my front fairing off many times and can see how this happens.

If routed properly, both the left and right side wires should have plenty of slack.

same exactly w/ mine. and with other wires. when you take the fairings off, you'll find others more then likely.

...mirrors, blinkers, lighting in general.....just an "after thought" on a ducati....

-- you should see what i'm dealing with installing the dp license plate kit....simple 1, 2 3....you say, "what could be hard about that"...........LOL's !!!!

these both made me laugh.....nothing is ever straight forward or easy with the Ducs (the instructions are bad enough) and it gives me greater appreciation for the engineering/design of BMW motorcycles.

instructions lol they have those for ducati bikes?

special bulletin for mirrors? can you explain.

It is in the tips and tricks section in the dealer tecnical area on the system they use to place orders and do warranty claims etc

i have it as a pdf but cannot post it as it is too large

I miss the good old day, taking off the bodywork on the 996 took about 5 minutes, 15 if you take the nose fairing off. dzus fasteners.

Like my streetfighter, no bodywork to speak of, easy to work on.
