T-rex slider

Mine have just arrived, anyone have any other feedback before I install them?

I had the shop install them. My tech said he had to shim the left side slider out just a bit as it was interfering with my Rizoma RRC rearsets running reverse shift. I love them, they appear very robust and designed by someone actually interested in protecting the bike.

The website says 2012 and on panigale.

Just seeing if anybody has installed on 2014.

Should be the same. Just checking.

I had the TRex sliders on my 1299 S and after a get off at over 60 mph I was really impressed! The bike slid on its right side about 25 feet on the hard Tarmac and rested in the grass. All I had to replace was the front cowl. Upper side panel and the right tail section and a handlebar. The gas tank was not touched! The right slider wore down about halfway but it literally saved my bike from being totaled. The tank alone is Over $2300.00!

I am totally sold on them. They are HEAVY DUTY PROTECTION. Maybe not as pretty as the factory carbon factory stuff but the factory stuff would not held up under the crash I went through.

Awesome product!

Speedy14, I'm glad to hear they work, although it sucks the way you had to find out first hand.

I've had these on my track bike (1199) for about a year. No crash as yet; but I can tell you the installation is a breeze, the product is top quality and there is no interference whatsoever with one's operation of the bike. I forget they are even there.

I have the original fairing with no cut-out for viewing the slight glass; and yes, it does block the view. You have to undue a few fairing screws to check the oil, adding about 5 minutes to the process.

I cant tell you about interference with the heat shields. I never installed them because I don't have a heat issue (I wear leathers and don't ride in traffic) and the shields block the view of the cylinders and valve covers. (Valve cover bolts are known to vibrate loose and leak oil from the gasket. It is much more important to keep an I and that then address a heat problem that I do not have.

So I had them on the bike from the previous owner. Only thing I didn't like about them was it made it impossible to view the oil sight glass. I happened to have the red touch up paint from when I had my 1198 so I took a step-up bit and drilled my own sight hole. Used the paint to cover up the exposed white bits on the inside of the hole and it doesn't look too bad. I wasn't going to attempt cutting out a stylish hole like OEM fairings have but it'll work.

Oh, and when I installed my Oberon clutch slave there was some clearance issues with the bleeder on the slave. I have to cut out a notch in the mounting plate for it to fit. Wasn't hard, though.

I've got these on both my track bikes.

The RSV4 had a low side on a warm up lap at around 60mph. I couldn't believe it when I picked up the bike and there was very little damage to the bodywork.

I highly recommend T-Rex. They are beefy, fairly easy to install, and cheap.

I guess the bodywork is different on the 1299 I can see the site hole for the oil no problem.

There was no site hole on the early, 2012 1199 models; One has to peek through the gap between the engine case and the faring to see the oil level, and a flashlight is required.

I've got the T-rex sliders on my bike. Not the prettiest but they are bullet proof. Unfortunately they also say 1199 on the side :p

A friend of mine got the T-rex axle sliders as well - they are huge and ....-like..wouldn't recommend those. I went with speedymoto.

I called them and they sent me ones that said 1299 on it.. You just have to call in..

They are different looking that the basical cosmptic stock Ducati issue sliders but they WORK.. If your just interested in looking good at bike night then they are not for you. If you really want protection to the max they are the best I have seen.. The left hand side does stick out a lot but it needs to since it is protecting the shock and other suspension components etc. IT is VERY well made and machined from billet aluminum with three different mounting points to absorb a pretty heavy impact. with the way it mounts I can see that it will disperse the impact over a broader area of the motor where it is mounted so as not to just snap off at the juncture (on the motor) like all other mounts I have seen.

So far it is the best made for REAL life impacts.. Not a pretty face but but very well designed

So for those that have tested the slider, is the actual slider itself replaceable or do you have to purchase another entire kit?

A replacement slider (clutch side) is $70 plus shipping. You have to contact them directly though. Ask me how I know :(

Yeah I recently ordered one and they sent me the wrong side :( * I had also ordered the rear sliders for the rear swingarm **They were also the wrong size and were for the smaller rear axle for older bikes.. When I called them back they wanted a picture of what they sent me LOL I guess they don't even know what they sent out.. so I sent them a picture then they sent me the right side clutch side engine slider( which was what I asked for in the first place) I even took a picture from their own catalog with the right part number highlighted..

Another problem that is still ongoing at this moment is the new rear sliders that they sent me were for the Front Forks LOL..
So, I sent them all back to them requesting the right rear sliders and they evidently don't know what they even ship out because they asked what the part number was on the second set they sent me..? **Their instructions that came with the sliders show a rear slider in the picture but the actual instructions are how to install the front fork sliders LOL... They have a great product but whoever is in charge of filling orders is probably stoned or something..

I sent them another email today with the actual diameter in millimeters 36mm on left 38mm o right.. Now they want me to pay shipping again and they are trying to send me the same crap I just sent them back..
Unbelievable.. Great product but if they send you the wrong stuff good luck getting it corrected !!
