I'm looking around for a tank extension, have you had any experiences with them? Would be nice to hear any real world experiences.

On another note, how is the carbottcomposites quality lately anyone had any bits sent from them?

Thanks

I just put the one shown here on:

Moto Works | Magical Racing Parts

Really nice carbon...good fit...sticks to the tank with double-sided tape (exterior...the tough stuff)...done a few days at the track with it...so far so good. Does give the knees more to grip. It comes from Japan, took a few weeks. The only beeyatch was laying Tank Grip on it...across the seam. Needed to add a little bead of adhesive around the edge but it (the Tank Grip) still wants to come up. It's still on there though....

Thanks, I was looking for something that would hold me back a lot further and so wouldn't work with a stock seat.

I just ordered one out of Poland carboncomposites it arrives in a few days ill update then under heavy braking after a couple races and fatigue I can not hold myself back as easily and accasionally slip forward I don’t like the shape of the tank and my knees don’t exactly lock into place perfectly hoping it will make riding easier

Hey Able, I purchased one yesterday from Racers Edge in Sydney , contact

[email protected] I purchased the black fibre glass as i'm not fussed with carbon.

$165 posted.

Thanks mate,
.... that's cheap if it's the style I'm thinking, will you need to mod a seat for it?

I meant to ask you what happened to Mike in STK1000? What's he doing now?
He deserves to be having a good ride I would think.

Im just using race glass , so a die grinder will make anything fit . They do carbon as well.

Yeah, Mike is now GREEN (Kawasaki) and racing a series in Spain . At least he is still racing in Europe, real shame he couldnt have been where Rinaldi is , as he was upstaging him at the finish last year.

Fitted the extension today , pretty easy. Cant comment if it will mate up with oem seat or not . Makes the tank more like the 1098 which I loved.

Just got the carbon composites extension its quite thick and strong hence heavy it weighs 250 grams or half a pound was $140 maybe everyone has race fairings but I am running oem and it doesn't look easy to fit no instructions I will have to cut the foam on seat and to mount it securely you would need to double side tape to tank or you could drill holes through the edges of the tabs/wings at the back of the extender and fix it to the base of the plastic seat but the seat plastic is not that strong. I can't uploads pics here

Defiantly not as easy to fit as I was expecting I'm running a full Fiberglass tank protector I will probably just glue it to that make it all one piece the down side is to take the seat off id need to remove it first.

I have had an oil catch belly pan and the fairing infill for underseat pipes from
them. General quality and outer cosmetic finish is good on the matt.
My only observations would be that for these parts at least, there was no
pre-drilling or any form of brackets or fasteners supplied. Also, as far as the
oil catch pan was concerned, it required modification of the original bodywork
for it to fit, the infill just required holes drilled to join it to the main panels.
As these were track plastics (DP kit), I didnt mind, but would never
have done the same with the oem fairings.

I’m unable to upload pics I imagine it’s designed for race seats so for oem there is a bit of work to fit it
