My UK Dealer informs me that when they fit the Termi Exhausts to the Tricolore I have ordered then they carry out a remap and the remap with Termi increase power by up to 5% does not sound a great deal but that could take the 1199 to almost 205 Bhp at the crank. Clearly that would be the same for any of the 1199's fitted with Termi's. The other thing I found out was this figure according to my Dealer is not significantly different even if the Termi Headers are fitted. Therefore I am not going to invest even more cash for the Headers.

I've only seen the "up to 5%" figure quoted in connection to the full system, though everything is speculation till we get some real figures across many bikes.

If the 1199 is anything like the 1198; you can expect ~ 3-5 HP gain for the Slip-ons, though they do open up the bottom end a bit and ~7-10 HP gain with the full system. The advantage of the full system is you remove the exhaust valve, lambda sensors and open up to 70mm headers. All this add to a substantial weight reduction as well as a "modest" max HP gain figure but the real advantage should be seen and felt through the low and mid RPM ranges.

Not to mention the bragging rights to having over 200BHP at the crank, from a twin. :)

100hp Per Cylinder and 170hp Per Liter of displacement!

You might as well just core out the stock exhaust. The slip ons are nothing more than a $2,000-$2,500 Termi sticker.

Looks like the real price is $1900-$2000 for the Termi slip ons, not sure about installation. We can only guess at this time what the increase in power will be.

The chart you posted for an 1198 showed 4.5HP and 2.5+ ft. lbs. torque increase. That sounds right to me.

This is still a respectable 3% increase in power from just a slip on exhaust.

There is also the weight reduction. Every little bit helps. Lower weight is a main reason I choose this bike over others.

But let us be real, most people will not notice a 3% HP increase at the very top. Lap times will be identical for almost everyone. And on the street, there will be less need for the small increase.

But I can say without a doubt, slip ons sound better than stock exhaust in almost every case.

Since I am getting the Tricolore, I sure hope the Termi's sound great and last a long time.

It's $2000 as per every Ducati online retailer. That's before tax and installation. In Canada, it's $2322 plus tax ($2500) before installation.

I listed the $1900 from AKKutz in the other thread listed it as such. Online price shows $2000 as you say. He works for Ducati dealer, so I thought he might be offering a discount, but I can't speak for him directly.

Either way, it is super expensive, and the HP gains are minimal at best.

Chris:)

Well, just like the 848/1x98, I'm sure getting an A&R baffle kit (aka coring out the stock exhaust) will do wonders. On those bikes the stock pipes were already 50mm so you got decent gains out of it after removing all the restrictors.

Frostyfire can you explain what coring out the stock exhaust entails and does this affect the fuelling etc?

This Thread

Pleased I started this thread, some interesting reading. I only know that on my RSV4 I changed the Exhaust Can for a Zard Titanium which both looks and sounds fantastic, plus it's about 2.5Kg lighter. I don't know if I have more power, guess I gain a bit as there is no Cat but all the other aspects out weigh the financial investment, for me at least.
In short, what's the first thing most guys replace on their bikes, yep ! the Exhaust.

Yup, interesting thread!

So basically, considering the Ducati Performance Parts:

- Slip-ons give a 2kg weight saving and a bit more bhp
- Full system (or slip+manifolds) yield the full 5% increase, with a bit less weight from valve/cat

Will be interesting to see how Ducati handle the map upgrades. They talk about a "hardware key Up Map for the dedicated mapping loading".

Not sure if this works in conjunction with a service computer, to effect the upload, but the word "key" suggests its not just plug'n'play.

my dealer would offer the slip on for $1,700, and another $120 to have it installed, looks like its a good price, i will wait until i can hear the stock bike and one with slip on to determine if i want one ( largely due to the noise level, as i dont want to piss off my neighbor too much)

The Termi systems (slipon or full) come with a race ECU flashed with the appropriate map.

I don't think so. The wording in the Performance Parts brochure and on the Ducati.com are very different for the Panigale.

They don't mention replacement ECU's and the like, instead what i quoted. Check it out.
