I think you should tell who this is...Excellent service like this needs to be public knowledge...:)

You're right, and I've been meaning to give a shout out for the exceptional service actually... I've already sent him another happy pani buyer though :) (who also lives in MI but got the deal from OH due to the much better pricing and free delivery)

It's Northern Ohio Ducati and Triumph. Delt with the owner directly, Carl, who was a pleasure to work with. I promised I wouldn't say what I paid for the overall bike, but it was pretty much the best OTD price I've seen posted (thousands less than the local dealer), AND he trailered the bike to deliver it over3.5 hrs away as mentioned, AND when he found out his guys forgot to top off the gas tank, he threw in a $25 BP gift card (which is more like 2 tanks of gas). Just really went the extra mile to make sure it was a great experience. Free installation on all accessories with a new bike. Oh, and hooked me up with 1.75% financing for 60 mo (with direct withdraw and tier 1 credit). HIGHLY recommend dealing with them.

:( auction has ended dammit!

Any dealer can sell it to you for the auction price if they want to, it's just a question of how much profit margin they want. Your best bet is the dealer you bought the bike from, as they are usually more willing to negotiate if they've already made a profit off you. How low your dealer will go will say a lot about them, because they all own them for the same price (dealers do not get volume discounts from the factory, invoices are the same).

Sounds like a dumb question but how large is the box/packaging they come in? It's just that I think I am gonna get them when I return to Florida to work but have to take them on as hand luggage when I return to Spain.

I think you will find box is too big to be used as acceptable carry on these days...I guess it depends on the airline..but seems to me they are getting really strict on this policy...

I can check when I get home, as my dealer put my stock exhaust in the termi box for me to store. But as Stw said, probably not carry-on, but I'll check.

don't worry about it, i emailed them and they will not send out of the USA. even to us brothers from the north. :(

I can't ....... stand companies with this policy. They're probably the type of people that think everything outside 'Murica is 3rd world terrorist lands.

It's actually comical. As a business owner myself, why the .... would you purposefully want to cut off potential buyers like that? It's like running a coffee shop with a sign on the door that says we don't serve tourists.

I've actually spoken to the owner of a big online MC gear/parts store, and they say they get HUGE amounts of business from Canadians, because everything is so much more expensive locally for them.

I don't get that either. Unless there is some kind of tax thing or something. I've ebayed stuff to canada and Oz. I just was upfront with buyer and charged them the difference in shipping vs conus. It always worked out fine for them and me. But those were just personal sales... With paypal & such I have been fine.

i was told that had a problem with customs and fees before with another customer so they won't do it again. when i order things from the states i understand that there will be additional fees or shipping. don't understand what is the problem. but that was (or "is" ) their policy.

it's relatively expensive to ship via FedEx or UPS into Canada from the USA.

Agreed but if I or others are willing to pay the shipping what does it matter to the seller?

it shouldn't, but i would suppose that many transactions don't materialize due to the shipping costs themselves.....it costs $75 USD to FedEx a 2lb "FedEx Box" from Los Angeles to Vancouver (almost $100 for 4lbs); that's a lot of dollars that have to be made up between the price of the used item and buying a new one in Canada. further, the seller may not want to deal with sending something via the more economical USPS (having to go to the post office is not as easy as using a FedEx/UPS franchise store/outlet, at least in my town it's not). then there's the potential problems/hassles involving customs (can become an issue for either party). beyond that, not sure why it would matter to anyone. ;)

lower 48 works for me. ;)

Bought my Termi Slip-On used for $1,000 in excellent condition. ....... didn't know the Up-Map had to be downloaded back into the stick (maybe he did) and gave me an empty stick. Luckily found one on eBay from a MN dealer for $100. A local dealer did the install for 2 hours @$91/hr when I was getting other stuff done.

So $1,000 + $100 + $182 = $1282 installed. What do I win?

I agree with oalvarez. I've sold a ton of stuff on eBay and had issues with international shipping where people say they didn't get the stuff and threatened negative feedback or filing a claim with PayPal. This is after they chose the cheaper shipping option that didn't have tracking and said they accepted the service. A couple things have been held up in customs, some requiring import duties, some just taking forever to clear. Either way it ended up being a major headache and I stopped shipping outside of the US.

Never had any problems with Canadians though, but as a policy it is so much easier to just say no to International shipping. Sorry Northern brothers...

A) USPS Expedited
B) Buyer pays for shipping anyway, not expecting free shipping, Canadians never do.
C) The scumbag shipping companies like FedEx and UPS will only charge the shipper fees if the package is returned. Their "brokerage" fee is thievery in the first place and that's why you use USPS anyway.
