Quick question about the slip ons. Was wondering if it's worth the money just on a sound difference not to worried about the performance gains. Basically my question is this, is there a noticeable difference between the stock cans vs termi slip-ons once u remove the DB killers?

Also what's a good price on the termi slip-ons I've seen the as low as 1690.00?

Thanks guys any info appreciated.

You'll get a variety of thoughts on this, but I don't think it sounds much different personally. Love my slips, but not worth it for sound alone.

My Tri was loud to start with on standard cans, but then settled down

The slips are still way deeper and more musical.

I was very happy after fitting them, but then they were free :)

Sound is different (deeper) and some performance gains due to the removal of the CAT.

Definitely a much deeper sound with the termi's, not louder than stock until at higher RPM with more bass at idle.

You forgot to mention the revised map that goes with the slips.
The improved fuelling is worth it alone, without the improvement in the exhaust tone.

IMO the slip ons aren't louder. There's less mechanical engine noise and more bass. I don't know if it's the exhaust, or the up map that comes with it, but my bike was transformed. The low RPM surging went away. The fueling is much smoother. I can ride around town, and cruise on the highway in a gear higher now. The engine seems to spin up a tad bit faster, and have a little bit more power. As far as price, I see them on ebay right now for $1500 with up map and $25 shipping.

I concur, hit it on the head with this explanation. There is a set for sale on here without up map, however an up map on its own is there for sale also.

With the up-map software installed the exhaust valve is held in the fully open position, and does not operate, which is why the exhaust note is deeper, and the fueling is better...it was with mine for sure, with the slips and up-map there is a huge difference with bottom end and the low to mid rev transitions too...for the better, I ran mine with std cans and the up-map the performance was the same as with the slips and the map, I agree the bike is really no louder with the slips on either? If you could get an up-map by itself load that you will see the benefit, you would not need the slips"¦but who would sell the up-map without the slips and visa versa???

I think It's been posted somewhere before around here regarding Db levels for all variants of exhaust.
Maybe in the earliest AKRA threads.
From memory the Termi slips are actually louder than stock by a nice margin.

Then there's that lovely tone:)
