I was actually there at PIR on 8/25 and watched him ride the SL. It was awesome!

Sad to hear the story behind this but glad he is enjoying it while he can.

Very sad. I first heard of Michael Czysz when I saw the movie Charge. His accomplishments are pretty awesome. Everyone should checkout the movie...it's available on Netflix.

What makes the story great is living life's precious moments to the max with truly one of the greatest tools to do so....

I had the great honor of being passed by him on the 100% Ducati track day at the Ridge in Shelton WA on September 8th.

Great story of celebrating life even if the light at the end of the tunnel has gotten bright. If you think about it we should all live like the end is near.

Thanks for the post!

i guess the question is would you want to know when it is your time? if you know would you live differently? would you change when that time came closer? its a tough call but all hypothetical cause we will never know, however this brave man kind of knows just not exactly and he is taking full advantage

god bless him

Crap! I wanted to be there that day but had to flight out of town for work. I haven't ridden that track yet but it looks awesome.

I had the honor of watching him ride the bike at the 100% Ducati track day, story kinda hits home. I'm a cancer survivor and the chance of recurrence is extremely high, pretty much if it comes back enjoy every minute. Seeing him ride the bike and the smile he had coming into the pits should remind us all to enjoy life and take nothing for granted.

Thanks for sharing! I had wondered why we hadn't heard more from him over the last year; had figured it was commercial/sponsorship reasons, but now I know the real story.

Definite echoes of John Britten here; a brilliant, creative guy with so much to bring to our two-wheeled world, only to have his arc interrupted by cancer. Have an old friend fighting a similar battle who is also getting some "throttle therapy", so a very familiar ring to it all Enjoy every mile...

not sad.

he wouldn't want that.

I am in awe.

I am inspired.

Definitely. I was there the last day, and he was working through setup on the bike like a pro. I think he may have run his personal best ever lap at PIR as well that day as he got the SL dialed in closer to being effective. It is a very good bike out of the box, but even more so than regular 1199's, very sensitive to setup and riding style.

He taught me a couple things that helped me to drop a full second off my best too, and I am grateful. It was a privilege to ride with him.

A great story tbh, even if it has some sadness to it. The MC electric bikes that run at the IOM TT these days have become legendary in my opinion. Great bikes which are turned out impeccably well. Just goes to show how you should enjoy life and live for today, as you may never know what tomorrow brings.
