Mark I wonder if the the Californian school uses them because they are such a user freindly bike and !!! Anybody !!! Can ride them. The 1199 is not a bike that just anybody can jump on and ride, it's a bike that has to be ridden and ridden with lots of respect. My last bike was a jap 4cyl and yes it was an awesome bike (1984 1100 katana with some quick mods) each to there own, have a great Christmas and wheels pointing down for the New Year.

They use them because BMW sponsors the school. Had another manufacture stepped up, they would be using those.
 
Mark, who cares which bikes win a magazine shoot based on opinions of the editors. Based on the last couple of shootouts, the RSV4 and the Panigale came in 1st and 2nd in rgeards to lap times. Aprilia and Ducati won WSBK and SSTK. Thats what matters.

You race world superbike? Can I have your autograph?

Yet Ducati still sells every bike they make - to each their own (even if they have horribly bad taste, and must have 4 cylinders to do the job of 2).

Silly argument you could have a single cylinder thats 1199 cc's if you would really want that would most likely be a great motor.

- their motorsport colour scheme is a mess for 2015
- and the all black is just so anonymous

and the half red/black …… well half of its in the right colour :)
 
Guys you own beautiful bikes. It still perplexes me that people let a S1000 get under the skin that much. You all own great bikes and the BMW is a great bike. Who cares who won at world superbike none of us race in it.
 
It's not the bike. I like the bike. I looked at them when I bought my 1199. Obviously I could have afforded one - it's less than the 1199. I'd agree overall you get more on the BMW than the 1199. I4s don't catch my interest. I'd prefer a V4 but Aprilia dealers are too far away for me - and a bit too small for me. So I went with the twin.

What gets me is Mark's constant "BMW is better, BMW is better" crap. It is. I don't care. I'm not fast enough to use any of them to their full potential. I get he likes the BMW better. Good for him.

It's ....... annoying when I have to go on a Ducati forum and see him spouting the same .... over and over. And I don't even post much.

I see you're in Ohio. Perhaps I'll see you at Mid Ohio or Putnam this year.

I'll be at Mid Ohio on my 750 and my brother with his RSV4. I have a BMW obviously but do enjoy the 1199 as well I just felt the BMW was the better bike. I can see why people like the Ducati however. Merry Christmas.
 
Maybe for that number I'll actually see a BMW or two out on the track next season. For something everyone claims is such a worldbeater you hardly ever see them...

There is more beemers than panigale at the track I go to.
