2015 s1000rr of course

I'll bet the people who bought the outgoing models of the HP4 will be a bit peeved.

Also, is the fact that they decided to reconceive the technology an admission that they didn't get it right in the first place?

The thing is still ugly regardless:(
And in some ways cheap but not nasty, until it gets a bit older and out of warranty.

Yet Ducati still sells every bike they make - to each their own (even if they have horribly bad taste, and must have 4 cylinders to do the job of 2).

I like that:)

I just hope for our sake, that the greatest motorcycle manufacturer in the world (DUCATI) doesn't bring out a V4 for the next model that supersedes the Panigale:eek:

Nice BMW Design ..

I certainly hope they do. The Panigale should have been a V4.

V4 or not, the next Ducati superbike should supersede the Panigale... that's the whole point of development.

If the CC's get any larger the engine would have to get larger, which would make the Duc bigger and a bit heavier. Maybe they will go back to 999cc's and use the advancement in components they have now or a V4.

Increase compression - like the new R that produces the same amount of hp as the 1299 while keeping the 1199 displacement.

The day Ducati comes out with a V4 is the day Harley Davidson releases an electric bike...

HD are working on it already, IIRC there is a prototype.
Whether they release it is another matter.
It will be possible one day though.

Like it or not, DUCATI will have one also.
Probably sooner than we could imagine:eek:

That's it in a nutshell;)

IMO, If they want to go racing and be competitive, they will have to back themselves with a V4 going forward.
The Desmo isn't too far from where they need to go with it.
A V4 in a frameless design could be a big winner, and they'll be able to sell it at a nice premium;)

Right from when the Pani first came out, I thought it might well be the last L-Twin Superbike we see from DUCATI.

We will see;)

What ever it is it'll be better than any BMW:eek:

Mark, sorry, bud, I know you keep trying to sell S1000RRs to us all, but your sales pitches come across like this:

What's better and what's worse is a totally subjective thing. Trying to convince others is a fruitless task, unless they actually agree with you. It also helps if they like the alternatives on offer, regardless of the stats.

What's more is that which bike is "better" doesn't actually matter. Unless you're a seriously talented rider tracking the bikes at a seriously fast pace you're not fast enough to tease out the difference anyway. The difference between most of the superbikes is measured in tenths and it's not apparent until you're riding them at the ragged edge.

Shootout "championships" and media "champions" are right up there in value/importance with the Starbucks parking lot variety.

Not this again.

I rode the BMW. Nice bike. But it's a 1st Gen ZX10R with some improvements. I can get those every day of the week for $3-4000 and put $2000 into them to fix up. The BMW is no more interesting to me than a run of the mill Japanese bike with a few upgrades. And the Aprilla's ergos were for littler men, not vikings.

I'll bet the 2015 has little more character than the first. Goofy lights aren't enough.

It just doesn't have the sound, feel, or panache that the Ducati has. And it never will, it's German. I also feel that Ducati has them beat on the DTC and ABS. ( I guess a little German on an Italian bike, is OK)
