Thoughts on the pista youngr?

Here are my thoughts on it.

Pro:
- Super light
- Visibility better than any I seen or wore.
- Cool ambi center visor open button.
- Super thick visor and very easy to get off.
- Design and the spoiler on the back is a plus

Con:
- VERY LOUD
- Construction- you feel the cycling helmets inside (materials)
- I'm not sure about the durability. You MUST be careful with taking off the pads. The buttons that is hook on the the helmet is like a zip tie materials and very very easy to break. (Most disappointed on this aspect)

But overall, I like it. I also love Arai too. These two is what I will be using.

Hope that helps.

I've been considering the new Corsa version of the Pista, considering it only a few ounces heavier and has all the same features. Of all the pros that youngR lists, sounds like you should consider Shark helmets. Been using the RSR2 on track for a few years and the new Race R Pro is even better and less than half the price of a Pista GP. I'm selling one of my Race R Pro helmets to get the Corser Replica. Troy Corser won his first SBK championship on the 996 and the replica should match the paint scheme I have in mind for the Pani race bodywork:

No thanks on Shark helmets. Never really like them at all.

Rossi has debuted his special Mugello helmet design for this years Mugello Grand Prix. Shown ahead of MotoGP FP3 the AGV helmet features an Aldo Drudi design based on the small turtle decal usually sported on his visor, which is also a tattoo on the Italian.

Of his choice of turtle tattoo he has said he chose it “Because I like the animal a lot. I had it as a mascot from when I was very young.” It also gives a strong contrast of slowness and speed as the graphic usually features his racing number on it’s shell.

Mugello has given us some classic Rossi helmet specials over the years, including the 2008 favourite Rossi face, his 2006 heroes design featuring Steve McQueen, the eyeball design from 2011 and the hands on head image from 2009

Feedback requested

I already have an two Arias. I have an Cosair-V and a RX-Q.

I'd like to get a carbon, but cannot decide between one of these (I tried on the a older GP Tech - FITS amazing), a Schuberth SR1 or a Bell Star Carbon.

Any thoughts on this?

Also my dealer told me the European version of the Pista will NOT have a soft as a liner compared to the US models as they don't believe in softer liners help in a crash....

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks-Big Boost.

.

My RX-Q fits like a glove. I've worn it 12 hours straight with zero issues. I tried the SR1 and it was very uncomfortable. After putting it on / taking it off a few times it had rubbed my temples raw. I really like it but not sure if it would break in as nice as the Arai. I just ordered the 2013 TT design Corsair so hopefully that's a similar fit to the RX-Q.

I really liked the fit of the GP Tech too but after 3 attempts couldn't find one which didn't have glue splashes on the cheek pads (a known quality issue I was told). I would like to try the Corsa but I think they need to offer eye catching and high viz designs which don't rely on the 46 Rossi branding. I'm a Rossi fan but I don't like to wear replica gear.

I have a Corsair V that I love and a new Bell Star Carbon with photochromic shield. I prefer the Arai for fit, quality and noise level. I love the Bell shield and it flows a lot of air but it just feels cheap. Never had a SR1 on but tried on an SR2 and loved it. Best quality of the bunch IMHO. The Bell is loud compared to my Arai. The Bell is only about 3 grams lighter than the Corsair V.

I like my RX-Q too. Fits my head well and I can wear it forever. Still breaking in my Corsair, fits similar to the RX-Q, but it does fit the top of my head differently. Not exactly the same, but close.

Thanks for the feedback on the SR1, appreciate it. I think I am going to wait till the new pista's come out before I make a call.

If you get an AGV, prepare for it to be loud. .. The AGV helmets (Pista included) are loud. Not the loudest obviously, but louder than the Arai Corsair V. And the Corsair V is not that quiet of a helmet either. I would put the Schuberth as the quietest helmet I have put on. . . The SR1's are quiet enough that I don't need plugs on the track. The Arai I still need to plug, and the AGV I need to make sure its a NRR 29 type of plug or something. . The AGV designs are killer, just be prepared for them to be loud.

Also, the poster mentioning the Schuberth SR2 - probably means the S2 as there is no SR2 (yet).

Funny how someone said the opposite in another thread. Corsair V was louder.

No idea who - but its not even close. The AGV is ridiculously loud. I haven't heard anyone say the AGV is a quiet helmet. Not saying no one will, but I found it noticeably louder. . . Enough that I know I wouldn't wear it and got rid of it. I pretty much stick with Arai Corsair/RX-7 and Schuberth SR1 as I own a few of each. The schuberth SR1 is quieter than the other two (again noticeably).

Like I said in other thread too... That guy must have really nice ear plugs. He need to ride it around the block with both to compare because I also have both and Pista is much louder.
