Trade in the S and just grab one. But for a few bits of carbon; my S is stock and flawless. Still will take a beating on the trade in but I'm not one to list things for sale and hope for a buyer

It's been a nagging thought for a while.

I'm a compulsive buyer. So....WTF....

Well, if you gotta do it, you just gotta do it - one more year of use for your 2012 seems like the more practical thing to do though (but you know what's said about these decisions and practicality)

-- I'm not going to say "you shouldnt".....I have an R on the way :)
 
I love how you think. I also know a couple of guys out here in CA who are considering buying one used, so you'd take less of a beating and wouldn't have to deal with the typical tire kicking nonsense that goes with selling on the used market.

And hell, I'll even fly out there and drive it back for 'em! :)

Hoping to have a full review of the R next month, too, which (I'm guessing) will only increase your desire to pull the trigger!

I think im going to pull the trigger and buy these new leathers soon for riding....

I really like the boots but may need to change the rearset first

I am a firm believer that levity is good and reduces the fear of death. You are new so deserve a pass. RSR and I are good buddies and go back a long way, and speak with each other alot outside of here. It was just here that I learned of his decision thats all. :D

Bro....there is no rhyme or reason to the decisions I make in my life.
In my line of work; it's all about instant gratification and it carries over to my nanosecond decision processes.

Same here...my local dealer has two coming. I'm on the fence between a heavily discounted 2012 S or the 2013 R :D

HEY Now, what if i logo it up with some Ducati graphics? Then you will all be begging for your leather set!! hahah :D The only argument will be if in High gloss or matte finish...
 
very similar position and i am leaning towards not getting one as the differentiation between an S model is so little.

IMHO the 1199R is an R model in badge only.
