Yes ti rods are good for a track bike but i will have to dump the electronic suspension so i think a base model makes a better proposition once i sort out the suspension and upgrade the exhaust to a full system such austin racing with an upmap and i will still be thousands of dollars better off.

Sure it wont have the R badge but i think this particular model is an R model in badge only and it is purely a marketing exercise from ducati.

BTW i am not knocking your choice as i am still on the fence regarding taking my delivery but at the moment the head is ruling the heart.

Like when I actually pulled the trigger for my 996 RSR from the Flying Lizard Race Team. I was soooo in the garage for that one! But I raced my ass off!!! I am such and adrenalin junky:D
 
Ya know in the thousnads of miles I have ridden (ok, just under 2 thousand), if I had a nickel for everytime I thought to myself, "damn, I wish these friggin' rods under me going 10,000 rpms were Ti", I would have a lot of nickels. Plus, I read somewhere that they do a tremondous job of absorbing all the heat, so it never escapes the engine, therefore not burning your ass.

That's why I have so much confidence in the Bayliss at high rpms. Not worried about seeing one launch itself through the cases. Love that bike!

Yea I know, when I was looking, that was the one I fell for - before the Pani was announced. So cool that it was the "face of things to come" so to speak. The current R is quite a disappointment considering that one. But Ducati needed those RPMs, and had to name it something.

very much in this camp....and i also agree with Antihero....sell that S to a private party, there aren't that many used ones for sale, especially good examples of them (read non-blinged out).

RSR's comment last night had me rolling for a good 10-15 minutes. I can't really explain it, but there's something to it.

okay no more lottery winning bull now im serious... Gold coast!!??? They are by far the rudest dealers/stealers that i know. no customer courtesy no acknowledgement of customer presence and they make assumptions on buying customers and are nonnegotiable to the point if they sense you want even 100 dollars off a 24000 dollar bike the sales guy sas "oh hmmm why dont you go to so and so dealer" and in nyc not much r's sold so i dont see why they cant give it to you march when they arrive.

And dont ask for a manager because the sales guy is the owner ! I even called once and the phone operater is screaming from the top of her lungs i rather wait until mcdonalds carrys motorcycles better service there!!

Ducati soho nyc is pretty fair but new jersey cross country ducati is beyond awesome the guys are great they are down to earth and you wont leave unless your happy ask for 'AL' hes pretty cool !
