Thoughts on Contour 2?

ouch yeah. . . That was a KTM RC8 ? I thought I was watching a panigale with some sort of strange data acquisition dash or something but then realized it was the RC8. ..

Looks like somebody tried to go around the outside and didn't realize you were going to slide that way with the traffic in front.

Can't say it was your fault obviously, but you probably should have gotten out there to the outside a lot earlier. ..

Sorry about the fall, and hopefully you'll get machinery and person back to full health soon.

Yeah it's frustrating, the bike is hands down better on the track than the Pani. It's a RC8R Track with upgrades.

I'm going to uploading some good footage. Wheelies down the front straight... Backing it in around the corners... EPIC!

OK here are my thoughts:

Better fuel mapping. ie Progressive and predictable power delivery. Very aggressive down low.
Suspension. Confidence inspiring, it just lays into corners and sticks.
Handling. The chassis is amazing, great rider feedback. EASY to back in and control rear wheel slides. It's point and shoot like a laser, it's also lighter.
Controls, don't even get me started. This is a double edged sword with this bike. VERY VERY VERY grippy brakes, very progressive bite as well with a deft hand. Clutch is the same way, NO slop. Be careful though, the clutch is a slipper, but bites hard. The rear likes to kick out, which I like. Throttle is IMMEDIATE, again double edged sword. Bit me once already... The rear brake is also very touchy, setup for experienced riders to control the back end and trail braking.
Construction is top notch. This thing is built for easy maintenance, and crashes like a tank. Yes it is very expensive to fix, but you can expect to keep riding after a low side as I did with my last crash.
Quick shifter has adjustable engagement and disengagement, very useful and configurable.
Chassis is highly adjustable. Subframe, suspension linkage, rearsets, rake, clip-ons, etc.

NO RIDER AIDS. This not not for the faint of heart, it will kill you. It has humbled me time and time again. It is unforgiving, yet sublimely rewards skill and self-control.

The track edition OTD was $8,000 less than my S. Beat that...
