there are 2 elements to that.

the throttle tube with the cavities, which can be turned around

and

the capturing ring with the 2 bosses that stays on the throttle housing, where the spacers can be applied. the capturing ring stays in its position and has to, since the gears are only on half (actually less than that) of the circle.

my 2 cents, i have no horse in this race, other than that i created the 3d spacer files and put them on mine back then. if i had known the throttle flip trick , i'd have done that.

i just want to save you guys a lot of printing, shipping and installing, when the solution could be so simple.

I filled the throttle 180 and it’s worked flawlessly . I prefer filled over plastic pieces in the throttle .

Thanks for that tip ...

I think the interest comes down to people Realizing 49.99 us . Is crazy for something that costs .10

Capitalism man, somebody had to design them, produce them, ship them. Every time those spacers passed a set of hands, every pair needed a cut. You just figured out a way to cut out all the people in between the person selling them and you. Lol

I bought a set for my first 899 ... then bought a set for my girls 899 ... then bought an other set for my 1199...

No way I am buying a 4th set for my 1299 ... Fak my ass still hasn’t healed from the last 3 x 49.99 US plus all the Canadian Import bull crap. [emoji23]

Time to make some ... this time I ending rotating 180 Deg.... never figured that out till now.

Hey dont be quite as hasty with the 180 degree trick, throttle spacers are still needed for the time being! I went to start my bike for the first time and it wouldn't, had to reverse it back to get going. Got a spare on on my desk that I will examine very carefully to discover why.

I haven’t tried to start mine since I did the 180, I’ll have to test it out.

So the 180 trick doesn’t work unless you trim plastic and I don’t like it because it relies on one pin taking the load but I now have the next best solution for those trying to save beer money.

I call it the 3m method

Use some electrical tape!

Do you still own the 899 and 1199 with the 1299? Why didn’t you remove the spacers when you sold or traded those bikes.

I’ve used motivation heavy barends for every cycle I’ve owned. They are about $90. The first pair I gave away with the bike. I was pissed to learn that even though it was a different bike, it used the same part number bar end. When I sold that bike I took them off and low and behold, they fit on the 1299. $90 saved, and when it’s time for the 1299 to go guess what, the bar ends are not going with it. My next cycle will be an RSV4, and I know the bar ends fit.
