I need a set of wheels for the SL street fighter project. Anyone have any experience with Thyssenkrupp? I know the original version came on the BMW. These are new for Ducati (matte finish). Thoughts?

So far those are the best looking CF wheels for the Ducati with the single sided swingarm in my opinion anyway. But I do not have any experience with them.

I just applied to become a dealer for them. So Im in the process of going back and forth with the paperwork and other info they need. If you want pricing on them shoot me a PM

Actually the original versions didnt come on the BMW. Unless you are referring to the BMW HP4 which did come with Thyssenkrupp wheels. I did my research on the carbon wheels that were offered on the BMW S1000RR. Those carbon wheels offered on the BMW S1000RR were not and still are not the best quality. They tend to crack and break more often than BST or Thyssenkrupp wheels because their build quality wasnt at the same level as these other two companies. The company that made or makes carbon wheels for the BMW S100ORR with or without the M package is called Mubea Carbo Tech. I knew that BMW doesnt make their own carbon wheels or their own carbon fiber for that matter. After doing some research on the internet and talking to guys I know and have met at bike gatherings. I was told that many BMW owner who bought their BMW's with carbon wheels cracked them. Some cracked them just by riding onto the sidewalks and hitting the curb. Others cracked them when bringing the bike down after doing a wheelie. Now granted Im sure if any of us rode onto the sidewalk and hit the curb while riding a fast speed or bringing our bikes down to fast or to hard after pulling a wheelie, we would bend or crack our stock or forged aluminum wheels. So what I heard from BMW owners is subjective since its he said she said. But there were too many stories that I heard which were the same. I did my research on the web on BMW's carbon wheels also. Guys were commenting that the BMW carbon wheels would crack or break under certain circumstances. Then the more I looked I finally found that Mubea Carbo Tech was the company BMW used for their carbon wheels on their regular models and on the S1000RR with the M package. While Thyssenkrupp carbon wheels were used on the HP4 and are being used on the BMW M 1000RR.

After looking into these carbon wheels and doing some research I emailed Thyssenkrupp for a dealer application. They responded by letting me know that my info was forwarded to the Thyssenkrupp US importer distributor which is now Bilstein. Bilstein became the official Thyssenkrupp US distributor as of December 21, 2020. BILSTEIN Official Distributor of Ultralight Carbon Fiber Wheels - BILSTEIN I was sent an email from Bilstein with a number of questions to which I responded yesterday. If they liked what I wrote, then hopefully by Monday or Tuesday they send me a dealer application and approve me a new dealer.

Well I did reference a particular company "Thyssenkrup" and I did reference BMW and the BMW that the Thyssenkrup wheels came on was the HP4 not the S1000RR so I'm not sure what relevance that history lesson had revolving around a company that has nothing to do with the subject of the post LOL. Let see what happens with the application.

Would you cut me some slack if I told you the truth why I wrote all that? Me and two guys from my MC finished working on my Harley about 30 mins ago. Then started drinking a nice tasty bottle of whiskey. When I read your post I went into grad student mode and wrote you a thesis. Which to be honest, after sending that whole write up. I said to myself wtf did you drunk write that. One of my buddies just saw that long winded response and read what you wrote. Then started laughing and is reading what Im writing right now. He just said dude Im embarrassed for you. Stop writing unless its short and interesting. LOL

I am pretty sure Randy over at Bellissi moto is the US distributor or main resource for the Thyssenkrup wheels?
