please i dont want to turn this into a comparison or which tire is better or not everyone has their personal opinions so please refrain.

bridgestone just released a new tire the s21 hypersport. in the article in road racing world they said they compare to the q3 and the corsa rosso i thought the q3 and the rs10 (r10) and super corsa were in comparison .

my question is this then where does this new tire fall? what is the rs10 tire? are the s21 just replacing the s20 evo ? they also mention the v02 slick anybody try those?

im all confused.

also anybody running the superbike pro ?

also rumor is superbike pro is being discontinued by pirelli or should i say just renamed. i want to pull my hair out with this i cant keep up.

flobrand how are the nteck treating you?

come on sprinkles this is not a rossi thread i post plenty of those you can say what you want there about rossi i welcome and enjoy the debate. im being serious here i need new tires and am on the fence so many damn choices. i wish rossi would chime in though because as we all know he is the only rider to have special tires made just for him so he could win. tires were never an issue until stoner started winning or should i say when rossi started not winning but this isnt the thread for that. i can start another one on the history of all that how rossi blocked stoner from going to yamaha and how he threatned to quit if he didnt have HIS tires . maybe it will be mentioned in the rossi movie coming out.

this is a tire thread.

To my understanding it is replacing the s20, a more street oriented muliti compound tire. So probably close to a rossi corsa and q3, from my knowledge the rs10 (or whatever it is) is the competition to the supercorsa. They would be the track focused tire.

there was a kid on my track that had a new r1 with the r 10 rs10 whatever it is in the states he said the tires were great for 2 track days.

ok so the q3 is not on the level of the supercorsa thats interesting thanks i guess thats the gpa pro a dot racing tire.

Hey Mark, as you know if ran the superbike pro last year and they did well for the price but my local track punished the right side of the tire and it showed with a flat area on that side. I ran the set for 5 track days before I decided to try the N-tecs.

I ran the N-Tec last season for two days at Thunderhill in Nov and it they were colder damp days which I just lowered the pressures more and took it easy. So far this year, my first track day on 4/18 was very hot and they performed awesome and the wear looked great. These are about the same cost as the superbike pro and sell for $369 per set 120/200.

From my understanding and what I know, the superbike pro will heat up quicker and has a much more flexible carcass. The Dunlop has a much stiffer carcass and likes plenty of heat.

My buddy had the rs10 on his r1, his suspension wasn't set up and or killed the tires in one day. The template were higher but halfway through the day his traction control was going great crazy, the tires got greasy. The q3 is a good tire and they warm up quick but at faster speeds and higher template I've seen them have their flaws, they don't handle it well. The Supercorsa has done well for me and everyone else I know, the Michelin power cup seems legit. At that point might as well run the slicks

interesting my home track is njmp which has 2 tracks heavy on the right side this is good to know.

the RS 10 will be destroyed after a track day if running them hard.

The US Ntecs are a good tire I run them, the front tire last's a long time the rears you should get a weekend out of (maybe more) and they are bidirectional so you can flip them. The only issue with them is you need to run the hard to keep the heat in them (I don't know what times you run at NJMP), also the front be a little vague but overall I like them

There is a new Pirellitires that is named the SC3. It's an endurance race tire. IF you are using an SC2 as your track day tires, its not for you.

It's not. Its a brand new tire. Totally different. It's for endurance racing, so if you are use to getting ultimate grip/edge grip form the SC1/2, you shouldnt use it. I thought I could use it for track days but John said why would since you would be 4/5 sec off pace.

ok there goes that

Wonder why are they getting rid of the Superbike Pro? Not that bad of a tire and its a much better price point than the Superbike SC's.

I'll probably try a set of Superbike SC's next to see how I like them against the N-Tec's.

The Pirellis have the best edge grip in the business. There were quite a few Dunlop guys who were running Dunlops and the tire vendor was late to the track. They had no choice but to buy a set of Pirellis to run a race. Lets just say after one race, they never went back to Dunlop.

Like we talked about that tire is a step up for you and you will probably be able to run it for 3 months(all season long) with way more grip than your Q3's..

Leon Im not sure who you told you that they are an endurance tyre but they are not. From Pirelli "they are a replacement for the SBK Pro, less tire wear and 75% of the grip of the SC Series DOT Race Tire, for track day riders who want more tire longevity without sacrificing grip" Its gonna have the same grip as the SBK Pro but it will be a DOT not a slick

I am sooooo hooked and memorized by this thread!!

Please keep it going so I can decide which one to finally use myself.

Sorry gunny if you don't like the subject. Why don't you educate me on the s21 from Bridgestone where they fall in the grand scheme of things. Also the superbike pros as well as all the other new tires that are out so I'll know and won't have to post a topic that you don't like.
