Some days are just better than others.

Today, I played hooky from work.. I got to take my 15 month old daughter to her nanny, then headed off to have a leisurely cup of coffee and some cake at my local coffee shop.

I headed off to my tuner's shop 60 miles away and had some fun on the 1299 on the way. Dynoed the bike, shot the .... with three diehard motorheads.. Rode back home, had Dave Moss do a housecall to my home and we took our time and set up my 1299's suspension.. Took it out checked our work, fiddled with it a bit more, until it was perfect ..

I made us each a cup of Yorkshire tea and some hot buttered toast slathered in Marmite, paid Dave the ridiculously small fee he charges for his expertise, but threw in an extra $60 for his beer fund.

I waved goodbye to Dave, then got to pick up my daughter and had a whole two hours with just the two of us.. She made me read about 23 bazillion Dr Seuss books to her and we had cookies and milk.

Overall, a damn good day and it's what makes life so amazing.. Life is very good.

I think that might be a northern/southern hemisphere thing, we're Vegemite down here........moments to savour Shilling, sounds like a great day.

Good story, thanks for sharing. Now if Dave M will just swim the Pacific Ocean. BTW try Vegemite, better than Marmite.

Utter bollocks.. Vegemite tastes like a sheep's dag compared to Marmite... And what's with that violet crumble crap... Crunchies are so much better.. :D

I don't know what in tarnation y'all are talking about, but I've heard a thing or three about that there marmite or vegemite or whatever the hell y'all call it, but that ain't food y'all are talking about. I tried it once and damned if it didn't taste like something that's been growing under someone's armpit for a few weeks.

I'll stick to my slow-smoked pulled pork and a mess of beans, thank you very much!

;)

anyways, that does remind me - I need to look up how to set sag on this electronic contraption and get that done.

I've had a year to learn how to adapt to active suspension (the Skyhook on my Multi) so I'm actually more accustomed to the feel of dynamic over fixed. I do like the speed and convenience of setting my suspension to general descriptors, such as "hardest" or if I can't decide, "default", while my friend on his 1199S endlessly tweaks his suspension from a myriad of combinations....

Hmmm...title reminds me of a harmonious melody from Ice Cube.... That does sound like an awesome day. Please send Dave to my hous for a spot of tea and suspension work.

I have a hard enough time getting in enough vegetables...so sheep's dag is probably a no go for me! :p

I wish my day was reflective of yours.

I spent the day going over May's monthly financials and all sorts of "fun" stuff like that.

Anyways, you should post up a quick thread on the procedure you used to adjust the settings. I assume that you used a similar technique to the standard, but was wondering how much electronic adjustment was used to tighten/loosen X millimetres.

Shilling,
would be interested to hear your suspension settings, in the dash and what mechanical was done.

Thanks for sharing. I love those kind of days off. Well, except the kid part as I have never has children. I'm 4-5 years from retirement. I think I'm going to be good at it!

Awesome to hear, but how the hell do you put on the amount of miles you do in a year with a lil one in your life! Lol

A good day is always nice, I'm looking for a good year (see Russell Crowe movie of same name)
