Track Bike DMV Registration

I've tried to search, but haven't found any concrete info. It's only $177 here in CA. I've turned my bike into a track only bike, what do you other track guys do?

Loose interest in riding on the road. No need to register or insure a track bike, unless you are just getting theft and fire insurance. The bike doesn't need a reg for that insurance.

I'm in CA. I keep theft insurance on my bike. Small piece of mind for a few hundred a year. Plus helpful if a cop pulls you over when towing.
