That's a survival reaction if I've ever seen one! Looks like he was on some line from another planet that has more gravity (therefore more traction) than earth, but that wasn't the case. Then he wasn't going to make any apex so he grabbed a fist and a half of brake as a SR. Hope he was alright physically.
 
Unbelievable that your friend was heads up enough to react calmly... Takes a cool head and relaxed riding. However, the other guy was faster to the corner ;)

For sure. It's amazing he didn't tuck the front end on a lockup. Must have some grippy tires.
 
I hope your friend was on the bike with the camera. Did the other guy also go down? Hope that rider was OK. Looked like he bounced off the track. Ouch! Never like seeing that.
 
He was apparently programmed for a right turn on a different track that day, cause that line was reedikkalus
 
That's my main concern on trackdays, someone having brain fade or no clue what he's doing and takes someone out. Luckily no one else went down.
