So I am wondering what you guys think ? I am looking at a 2012 1199s with 2600 miles for 15,900.00.the Dealer offered me 12k for my 2014 stock 899 with 1,800 miles I really want to jump on this Deal!!!

In most situations the 899 is a better bike.

Why do you want to change and what type of riding do you do

So you want to trade your bike in for a bike that is 2 years older and has more miles on it? AND you want to pay another $4,000 on top of that? Doesn't sound like a deal to me. Keep your 899.

Go for it. Life's too short to debate the small stuff...

Yup. Buy what you want and be happy. Test ride it, check on warranty options, ask about service/tech history.

More miles? It's 800 more. That's one long weekend's worth. The 1199S is also $10k more when new.

These aren't the bikes for the riding you do MOST of the time. They are bikes for the riding you do SOME of the time.

Do it! You'll spend your time longing for the "big" bike anyways.

Get it and you're done!

And it will be an "S".

If you happy to, go for it. By the sounds of it, the 899 is better for the street but I got the 1199 as I love the singer side swing arm Lol

Unless you are racing, the 899 is the better bike for every day purposes.

BUT...if you want the bigger bike, get it. There is nothing worse than sitting around constantly thinking "damn, I wish I would have gotten.....".

So do whatever will make you happy. At the end of the day, that is all that matters.

Just a thought but how much more is a base 1299? I would be considering one of those in this position.

I test rode the 899, thought it was ace, then bought a 2012 1199s because it was the same price as a new 899, had ALL the carbon bits on it already, was barely run in, and somehow was cheaper to insure.

Now I'm living the dream...

The base 1299 is about 4K us dollars more than the 1199s your looking at. If your looking for a raw manic bike get the 1199. If you want the refined timid(for lack of a better word) version get a 1299. Btw I love the 899. I ride one ever time I'm at the dealer.

Make the deal one on condition with your dealer. They must let you swap the 899's and 1199's seats over so the 1199 will have the 899's seat. Thank me later.

Laughing at the guy that stated you ride these on some occasions! Why the heck would you spend so much money on a toy and not use it?! Buy what you want and ride it! 21K on mine and not a singe thing is wrong with it, runs like a champ! The single sided swing arm would be enough for me to trade it in. That's the reason I have mine ;)

A panigale is like a gorgeous female with an awesome attitude that's also chemically balanced. Nothing wrong with having horsepower it's just an added bonus in my opinion.

12' is the first production year, you might have more glitches than the new ones
get what you want most
