Man...with my recent issues...I was of the mindset that a Japanese 4 was in my future. I rode one of the Rickdiculous '16 GSXR1K's for several laps around T-Hill. Felt like humping a hippo compared to riding the Pani in terms of size. Turn-in was super slow...and throttle response sounded like a sewing machine. It was fast, no doubt...but that bug-eyed giddy-up out of corners just wasn't there. Different experience altogether. Need to get on a tuned R1.

Add: Cruising in a Caddy vs. a 'vette...no doubt it was very, very stable.

I'll take your word for how it feels to hump a hippo...

The Caddy vs Corvette was a much better analogy :D

This is corny logic. No Ducati finished race 1 because they all crashed out. It has nothing to do with the bike. And Chaz has helped the development of the bike to suit his riding style. The upgrades on the bike has made Chaz more competitive. Also, Tati should have won the title if it wasnt for De Rosa crashing him out two rounds ago. How soon we forget the 1199 won the STK title in 2014.

Corny....maybe, but feel free to go and look at any race results from this year. If your name is not Chaz and you were on a ducati, you struggled. I've said all along the 1199 is more competitive the closer the rules get to it's stock configuration. Hens it's success in WSTK1000 and it's continued improvement this year. However, do you remember how competitive the bike was or I should say wasn't initially when Checa road it and the rules were more relaxed? All he did was crash and force his retirement. The pani got smoke on virtually every long straight. And as good as Chaz has been this year he's still struggled with consistency. Which means he's been riding at 10 tenth just to stay with the Kawi's. Hen's his position in the championship now. However, I will concede that over the last several rounds that has changed. Nevertheless, how doesn't the bike make any difference? The last time I checked Rea didn't win a championship on the CBR and never had a season with more than 4 wins. Sykes hasn't won on anything other than a Kawi and while Chaz did have some success on the BMW he wasn't in contention for a tile and didn't win anything in 2014 on the Duc. So yes the bike is a big part of it. But I digress, forget all of that. Answer me this, for 2017 what will Ducati's answer be to an Improved R1M with a full race season under it's belt, Rea and Sykes on the new ZX10RR, Nickey and Van Der Mark on the new CB1000RR SP2? What will their answer be to a returning factory effort from Aprilia and the WSBK version of their RSV4-FW? Remember the dominant factory Aprilia years with Biaggi? If you think it's the current Pani R with improved electronics and new exhaust..... well I wouldn't hang my hat on that.

put Rea and Sykes on the Yamaha or the aprilia or the Bmw and you'd still see the fight for 1,2,3 between Chaz, Jonathan, and Tom. everyone in the paddock knows it - all the commentators and ex racers have all said it .

its a testament to the series too . they've done a perfect job of making the bikes equal

WHAT!!! The last time I checked Guintoli is on a Yamaha and a former WSBK champ. He's not competing for wins or a title. Hell he hasn't even been the fastest RIM this year. And you don't think Hayden, Van Der Mark, Lowes or Camier is capable of winning races or a title if on better equipment? If you put any of those guys on a Rae's Kawi or any factory works bike; their winning. I think you're short changing the talent in WSBK just a bit?
