Trouble down shifting

I just completed my first track day of the year on my 1199r and during my last session it became extremely difficult to down shift at speed. I had to slam down on the shifter hard to drop down gears. Up shifts were normal. I also noticed I could not find neutral when engine is on but with the engine off I find neutral no problem. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Bleed the clutch and / or have the slave cylinder replaced under warranty.

Or get an aftermarket one and forget about the problem.

Unfortunately this is a typical disease of ducs...

Cheers,

You should never push hard to get a downshift to go in, you'll bend the shift fork and then your bike will shift worse or not at all.

Bleed the cluth feels almost like an everyday maintenance process... :D

We do a quick bleed every morning... Just pull the clutch lever in, and open the bleeder screw on top of the master for a quick "pop", and bobs your uncle...

Oberon. I wouldn't even bother with replacing the stock one with a new stock one. It's the best $150 you'll spend on the bike and takes less time to replace than driving to and from your dealer--even if they're super close!

I got my oberon installed. only 300 miles on it so far but it has a nice firm feel. I love it. We'll see how it effects the dreaded air issue.

The Oberon WILL fix this. I had the same issue and replaced the clutch slave 500mi ago. Just put it through its first real test today - 5hrs of riding in everything from 50F to 90F temps, with altitude changes from 1100' to 6500'. Clutch feel was the same at the end of the ride as at the start! Same goes for the smoothness of the downshifts.

I put oberon on my SL, MV and the Monster 1200s, on my tri I put CNC racing, right after buying the bikes. I never expierenced any problems. But still I do regular bleeding just to incrementally replacing the brake fluid over time with Castrol SRF React.

All clutch slave cylinders I've had in my hands during time are very good, except DP! They seem to ignore the fact that all new ducatis have this anti-rotation pin in the push rod.
