Read through the wealth of Tuneboy threads here and found a reference to rev limit increase for the 1299.
I wrote Tuneboy and they confirmed it's possible using TuneEdit to increase the rev limit.
Does anyone have experience with raising the rev limit of the 1299S to for example 12000 rpm? Any reliability issues? Blown engine etc?
I have a Panigale 1299S running 15/41 sprocket setup. With the upgraded DTC EVO it's really easy to get hard on the gas and I'm running out of top speed. 12000 RPM rev limit in 6th gear would solve my problem.
I've safely done this on other bikes such as my Aprilia SXV550. Stock rev limit on that is also 11500 but mine runs 12500 no issue. Some even run 13000rpm. This is safe(ish) on the SXV550 because the street version came with the same cams as the VDB SXV550 race bike that had stock limit of 12500 rpm.
If anyone has such experience with the Panigale 1299 I would appreciate some insight.
