Sorry you have not figured it out yet. I’m not certain what your issue is. I’ll take a look at mine and connect it. TBH I struggle a bit after not using it for a while. Last thing I did was change the temp the fan cuts on. Was actually simple but do after I was taught. But I have no idea right now how to change it again. Lol
I probably didn’t do the best job explaining my trouble firstly. Anyway I talked to one of the service guys at my local dealership about it when I booked a service a couple days ago. My first time using them since i only recently bought the bike. Anyway he said not to bother since tb will not enable any further Ducati software updates from being installed - then he recommends a pc5 since I’ve installed a full exhaust. I expect he’s just trying to upsell me and try milk another thousand bucks from a new customer who doesn’t know any better... excuse the ramble, I guess I’ll just keep playing with it until it works

I’m just rebuilding my bike right now. I’m hoping to have it done by the end of the month. I’m going to install a TB and I’m confident I’ll be able to answer any questions you have after that. The pro benefit to a piggyback is an auto tune using an installed wide band O2 eliminating the need to visit a Dyno.

Um, that makes no sense because you always have the option to reflash back to stock when you take it in for service.

Like I say he’s just trying to get me to spend more money with them. I’ll make sure the updates are current and then go ahead and try install tuneboy again once they’ve serviced it.

So tune boy cannot do a oil service reset? (Turn oil light off) apparantly The program does not have this feature?

I can turn off both the oil & Desmo service lights. I reflashed mine to stock when I took it back for some warranty work. That’s when I realised how bad the stock map was and how good the TB was!

Interesting thing is there is no way the Ducati DDS can see if you have a reflash done (although any shop worth their salt should be able to tell...)

How do you know this for sure?
ECUs generally keep a checksum that isnt ever overwritten
This is how dealers can check if an ECU has been changed in the slightest. That even includes going back to stock. Checksum changes

check 2 bikes (899 and 199) now with ECU reflashes (Tuneboy) with the DDS at the dealership (I knew the tech well as we raced together) You can bring up ECU software firmware versions, but It only shows the date of last Ducati firmware upload. From the screens we looked at there wasnt any checksum/ reflash log or ECU reflash count avaliable. It does have a good log for Error codes and resets, but didnt see all of my service light resets I did.
Also the dealer never keep any paper work in regard to stuff they found, most of time it was only use to clear the service light and reset error codes.

Very good to know great job on the recon with your dealer friend

Well, update for anyone interested. The stars aligned and I finally got the software installed on my 1299 which frankly surprised me after just about everything hasn’t gone my way this week :D
Straight away I noticed the startup and idle is far less laborious than before (I installed a VanDemon system already). Throttle feels a bit sharper but it’s already like a razor so I’m probably just talking ..... Anyway I can’t comment on the launch & cruise control or ride improvements as it’s too wet to ride here currently. But I can say Im happy to support businesses here at home.
As far as all the a/f mapping goes I’m way out of my depth there so I’ll enlist a dyno wizard to work their magic eventually.
