Hi,

I know most of you guys still have the bike under warranty so most likely change the engine oil and other stuff at the dealer to make sure there isn't any discussion if something goes bad, but I was interested what oil you plan to use or already use for the V4?

The viscosity is according to the manual (if memory serves me right) 15W-50 and there are kits out there like this one:

https://www.carbon4us.com/en/spare-...ell-oil-change-ducati-performance-filter.html

And there's something from Motul much more expensive (discount asside) but 10W-40: https://www.carbon4us.com/en/spare-parts-and-consumable/4209-motul-oil-300v-10-40-4-litres.html

I'd like to see what's your input or choices.

there are many many oil debates but here goes with my .02

1 300v best oil out there either 10w40 or 15w50 doesnt really matter. problem is the cost. 80 bucks for 4 liters is a little pricey. you can grab it in the states on sale for about 50 bucks for 4 liters which isnt too bad.

2 amsoil. great oil full synthetic and about 13 or 14 dollars a qt. is it as good as motul probably not. but motul isnt 4 or 5 bucks a qt better than amsoil.

3 castrol racing 4t 10w50 or 10w 40. i use the 10w50. you can get 6 qts shipped from amazon for about 48 bucks. thats under 8 bucks a qt and all you have to do is go to your front door to get it. is it as good as amsoil maybe maybe not but amsoil isnt 5-6 a qt better than castrol and no way is motul 10 dollars a qt better than castrol.

go with what you like dont forget mobil 1 and shell rotella t6 full synthetic are also used as well as royal purple etc. if you change it frequently enough does it really matter?

This is one of the best posts I've seen here. GJ man.

70 to 75% of all oil by volume is a base stock, the rest is fillers. When considering oil for any motor, read the API specs to see if the properties are what you want. The API specs are on the back of the bottle, then all you have to do is search and figure out, do I want this additive in my engine. Based on my riding style, is this the right spec.
