Mine's OK too - just checked. Thanks for the really helpful info Valen.

I love fora like this - so useful.

For the ones that have issues locating the bolt, follow the yellow arrow ;-)

This picture doesn't help much.

Locate as follows:

1. Stand on the right side of the bike.
2. On the right side of the rear fender/hugger is a small vent hole, its triangular shaped. The hole is towards the front of the hugger where it meets the swing arm. Its the hole you can see towards the bottom of this picture:

3. Look though this hole towards the other side of the bike and you'll see a shiny machined patch on the otherwise black swing arm. It will be just forward of the rear tyre.
4. At the centre of the this bright patch is a hole.
5. Buried at the bottom of this hole is the bolt.

If the bolt head (Allen) almost fills the hole, has no knurling around its head and doesn't have a collar, you're OK.

You'll need a torch to see it clearly.

Hope this makes it clearer.

My letter came in this morning. 1st service on Saturday so it's getting checked out then.

anecdotally, it seems like most of us are OK on the bolt. So must be relatively small number overall

Just had mine checked at the dealer and mine is ok !! everyone they have checked so far has been ok !!

Mine checked out ok, Dealer said it was only a small number of VIN's that actually have this incorrect bolt and they hadn't seen one yet.

Just checked mine and all good.

My dealer still wants me to pop over for them to confirm which is no issue as they just around the corner.

No pb. Few bikes are concerned but as their tracking system is "so-so" they have recalled a huge number of bike.

That's why I thought it could be convenient to have a self checking process to avoid a traffic jam at the dealer for nothing ;-)

Mine's clear and was in the reported range. Although the range is over 3,600 bikes so they cast the net pretty wide on this one.

My bike is subject to the recall, but I've still had no letter from Ducati. I only found out it was one of the VIN's recalled when I took it to my dealer to have them check the chain tension. I'd already checked the bolt myself so wasn't too worried, but its poor that I didn't get a letter.
