I say unique because I have been on this forum for a few months now but haven't noticed anyone with quite the extent of my problem.

I am about 315 lbs. Also 6'11" tall. I already got my rear spring replaced and set all of my suspension to where I think it should be. but I had 2 questions that I'm hoping the community here can help me with.

1. Do you think it's totally necessary to completely redo the suspension front and rear because of my size?

2. I ride pretty aggressively (always have) and I've never had an adjustable rear suspension. Should I be set to flat or progressive or is that not really dictated by weight, rather constant change in load, ie 2 people on the bike vs 1.

Thanks in advance for your advise, and if there's any other tips for this bike at my size I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had a couple of R1's previously but I finally got the bike I've always wanted. Now I just need to set it up.

Your a big rig that's for sure . Try it as it is and see how you go .
Does the bike fit you alright from a ergonomic point of view ?

Redoing the whole suspension would probably be the biggest change you would feel

Especially since you're such a Hulk

that is big ! :)

you ll need a full redo. Including internals .. especially if you're doing doubles .. you ll need much and much heavier springs to carry you so the shocks don't have to up the preload or comp damping.. Especially when you're agressive.. front oil level may have to go up as well... this takes a specialist.. go for the supersport V2 tires so you 're sure they stick...

this will take a specialist to get right.. not just 2 clikcs here and there..

and : whatever you do, don't touch F for P ...

why you 'll need the heavier springs ? otherwise you'll compensate through Preload first. but this will lift the front of the bike and you will go wider out of turns as it changes the geometry.. and increasing preload and compression damping to cope with dive, it takes away suspension capacity that will be transferred onto the tires.. and these can olny take so much more load before they let go.. especially if your agressive. It may even take different shims to aid in the damping

what you could do now is increase rebound by 2 clicks to keep the front down and stable when you get off the brakes..

just to make sure : increasing = more damping = less clicks away from fully closed ( 32 ?)

Plain and simple, you're far too big for this bike. Just like Shaq can't drive a smart car, you can't ride 99% of the bikes out there. Find one you can ride if you want to that bad.

6'11" 315lb, you're like Shaq when he was skinny. Don't think there are drop in parts that can help you. I suggest calling Race Tech, they are local socal, and have them do a full rework for you. Well worth every penny.

i'm 8'2" and the carbon fiber rear shock cover almost works.....

(did a dealer really sell you this bike in stock suspension setup ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ really ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿)

LOL, wow thats a full spectrum of advise, from legit suspension setup to "get a different bike",

I've been riding since I was young, with an 8 year break when I was fighting and my contracts forced me to park it for a while, and I've always had sport bikes. First was a TL1000 R and then a few R1's. I rode an R1 when I was playing college football and I was almost 400lbs then. Full suspension redo, but the bike is big enough as long as I'm comfortable. And to answer that question, this is the only ducati that I've ever truly felt comfortable on. Not sure why that is, as most of what I've heard is that its actually a little smaller.

I already had my rear shock replaced and I use Dan Kyle. He has done all of my ohlins gear for 10 years. I'll be replacing things here and there but I'm debating what to do first. I'll post pics tomorrow when its light out and you all can have a good laugh.

Thanks to those who took the question seriously.

Did you already do rearsets? I don't know how much comfort they will provide but i am sure it's better than nothing!

You should redo the suspension front and rear and have a professional set it up for you. Not just one piece at a time. You will see how much of a difference that makes.

I haven't done rear sets on this bike yet but only because I don't know which ones I want yet. I like the Ducati ones but they only come in silver, and the Rizoma's look really good, but I have no idea if the're any good. And on top of that, I need to find a set that will adjust as much as possible.

Rear sets are definitely a must on anything for me.

And there really isn't a motorcycle that's built for someone my size. I obviously never ride anyone on the back, but I'm about the equivalent of a good size dude and his chunky chick, so it's not as if these bikes aren't subjected to the weight.

the ducati rearsets will not work for u because they only have 2 settings which are high and higher....

I never see a man 8'2 tall, who are you an avatar men??

Yeah, lol. It's a pain. Especially riding, and travelling as much as I do. What rear sets do you use? Your'e probably as close to my height as I've ever known to ride a bike like this. I thought ducati wouldn't be as comfortable, but this is my most comfortable ride yet.
