SWEET ! Man , I hope they have a good season next year ! I'm ready to see Rossi back on top again !

today's the day - they are in Sepang right now and we will soon find out if all of the efforts that have gone into the gp12 have paid off!

I wish them the best - I really do. Ducati has put a lot of effort into building the bike around the rider.
I think that is a first for most manufacturers and very astute from a proud company with a great racing history.

Early days yet, but as the first day of testing come to a close, Rossi is not off the pace by much. Casey only did a few laps due to a muscle injury.

(From Motogp.com)

Valentino Rossi 2’02.392 (30 laps)
“I’m happy because first impressions are important, and already in the first few laps, I could tell that I like the bike. Ducati did a good job in a just a short time. The bike is beautiful, but more importantly, it’s nice to ride. The riding position has improved a lot, and it’s better on braking and corner entry. I can brake like I want to and take the lines that I like, and I feel comfortable in general. I was able to ride well and not make mistakes, and there’s a reason for that. It means that the bike can be ridden. It’s more agile in change of direction, and it wheelies much less.”

”We’re 7 tenths back today, and of course there’s still a lot of work to do before we can win. We have to improve in some areas: acceleration, electronics, power delivery and setup. I’d say we’ll be able to make a more accurate assessment at the end of the test, because let’s remember, the bike is just 40 days old. To leave here a second back from the top would be okay because anyway, we know that there’s still much more to be done. But one of the best things from today is that the bike reacts well to changes. That enabled us to drop one or two tenths every outing, which means further progress should be possible.”

yea, just saw that video on motogp.com

my mate was just there watching as picking up some stuff for our bikes he said Nicky was out on the Ducati his lap board was counting down the laps but he wouldnt come in said it looked like he was having a lot of fun .
Edwards was out on the CRT but about the 3rd lap at the end of the straight he said it sounded like something was broken and did not sound healthily

Stoner back on top, followed by Spies. Nice to see Spies having a good day.

Rossi nearly a second off the pace though spent his day testing parts, so not a bad showing. Nicky .5 seconds back of Rossi.

Props to Hector for topping Rossi by 1/10th of a sec..

Is that thumb nail for real? Looks like a Ducati-aha.. all that aluminium..I dont like to jump to conclusions and i could well be, but to my eye that looks like a pig.. maybe a fast pig.. and one that handles but it doesnt look like a duacti to me.

I cant help this but if that is for real we will all end up on R1s with a Ducati badge. Rossi tamed the Duacti and made it rideable. At least Stoner rode the dam thing and didnt he win on it.

Casey Stoner on a 1m 59.607s? Flying

We're in for a fast season. Casey is already nearly a second faster than the Circuit's fastest lap of 2m 00.518s - Set by Vale during qualifying in 2009.
