Hi all,
I purchased a '21 and just installed the Arrow exhaust and bought the t800 Upmap with it. Exhaust is installed but I wanted some opinions as to whether or not I should install the Upmap now (~250 miles) or wait until after the first service. I am unsure if the dealership does anything to the bike that would (erase, overwrite, etc) the Upmap program. If so, I am imagining I can simply reinstall it when I got the bike back home?

Anybody have any experience with this or thoughts on the matter? Thanks!

You can install it all you want but there is a counter so if you are concerned about stuff like the warranty you might wanna wait

It’s not like they are going to need to hook a puter up to it to know that it’s been flashed

A pipe plug where the narrow band sensor was is kinda a dead give away : )

Isn’t the beauty of the t-800 that users can switch back and forth between the original map and the modified map for reasons just like this? I say go for it now and switch back to your stock map in the parking lot of the dealership the day of your service.

They sell the bikes with exhaust and mapped down here in pa, so it doesn’t matter if you do it or wait. The bike still has a warranty, don’t believe the hype that the warranty dies when you mod it.

The dealer ain’t gonna trip if the counter reads a moderate number. Maybe the factory had to upload software more than once? Bring it in blown up with a bunch of uploads tho...

I bet they will try to squirm outta fixing it

Why else would they put a counter in the new bikes?

I didn’t not know there was an internal counter for the flashes/revisions. Makes sense though.

I tried installing the t800 on my ‘18 V4 and it was a horrible experience. The unit is glitchy and ultimately froze and corrupted my ECU turning my bike into a paperweight. I then had to return my bike to my dealer and pay to have the factory map reinstalled. After many emails back and forth with upmap they have wiped their hands of my case and have done nothing to help or offer a refund / return. Worst experience and I can only say to spend the extra cash and get a proper tune done . AVOID this product!!!

My bike ran better with the aftermarket exhaust on a stock tune than it did with the upmap. I was very disappointed. It seems to work well for some.

What exhaust is this? So youre saying you dint tune at all? just did the aftermarket exhaust without tune? Slip or or full exhaust? Any lights?

Jesters exhaust which is very similar to the arrow. Yes, you get a light when running stock tune without the exhaust valve. No, I am not running stock tune, I did it for a test.

I am now running a custom tune.
