This is one of three annual rallies US Desmo club has. Last week we had the rally in Erwin. Sept 14-16 we have the annual rally (I think this is the 17th annual DFS rally).

We generally have about 75-90 riders mostly ducatis, some other euro bikes and a few japanese bikes. We've moved to a new location this year, we've been in Hiawassee GA for the past several years but have moved to Murphy, NC which is about 25 miles northwest of Hiawassee.

It's only about 180 miles from my house so I'll be most def. riding the panigale up. I hope some of you guys near can make it. Great food, neat bikes, magnificent roads. THe Saturday ride encompasses some of the nicest roads you could want.

Just back from DFS, probably the 10th or 12th I've been to. Lower turnout about 50 riders, mostly all ducs a few triumphs and beemers. The multistrada was the biggest grouping. I was on the only Pani, had hoped someone else from the forum would make it out. Everyone loved it.

Rode up from COlumbus GA friday morning, got to Riders HIll in Dahlonega (a great dealer, bought my rsv4 there, they sell guzzi, mv, aprilia) a cool place with a cafe and such. During riding season open from Wed thru Sunday (including service!)
From there we rode loads of great twisties and took the rest of the day to get to Murphy NC. all told about 250-300 miles (150 of that on the highway).

Saturday, instead of going on the planned route we rode to Robbinsville and then up to the gap on 129 and looped back down on 28, back to Robbinsville, did the Cherohala skyway, 50 miles of great sweepers and you can haul ... on there! Lunch in Tellico plains, ran into a bunch of triumph riders (as they as well as the Guzzi club had rallies in the area). From tellico we head north and hit 129 from the TN said, rode deals gap, a bit of traffic there, only one cop parked on the stretch. Deals Gap is one of my LEAST favorite roads to ride up there. All told another 300 or so miles on Sat. we headed up this morning going back down thru dahlonega on the twisties again

Forgot to mention one of our Canadian members who comes down just got an MV agusta F3 (675 triple) we also saw two for sale at riders hills, gorgeous bikes. exhaust note is wimpy, the Canadian has been having huge issues with stalling, they haven't seemed to get the mapping right yet on the bike. I'd love to get a 675 brutale (I had a 910)

A great trip and the Pani behaved flawlessly the whole time.

sounds like a blast! couldn't make it due to dogwatch and budgetary planning (CMP at the end of the month with US DESMO)

next year i'm in.

nah, I never take pics, don't even own a functioning camera.

Have fun at CMP, I'd be going but I'm doing Jennings that weekend with NPR ducati. But will be doing Roebling Road in Oct.

BTW> US desmo is going to be doing a track day at Barber next year!!
