I'm considering selling my bike in anticipation of the V4. I'm slightly worried that the V4 will knock the price down and also don't want to have to think about making payments on or storing this bike for the winter if I'm going to upgrade next year anyway. But there don't seem to be 1299 S's on the market to really gauge price.

I've got 3k miles on the clock and the bike has been perfect. I do love it. But I know myself and unless the V4 is ugly, I'll want it. So I'm thinking it might make sense to try to sell sooner than later. I just don't know what the right # is.

What someone is willing to pay, selling a ducati will be hard as ducati ist people want new.

Secondhand people want a bargain with all the fruit, you’ll have dreamers like some .... on our local forum wanted a 19-20k ducati for 14k.

Here for those kms 28-30K AUS

i say 18k for 2015 and 2k more for each year newer.

but at that price range alot of people will just go finance a new one.
not alot of people have that kinda of money sitting around.

15-16k is prob the most i would want to pay tho.

brought my 15 base for 13k with 600miles on the clock.

My dealer offered me a demo S for 19.5k and a brand new base for 17.5k. I got the base.

I wouldn't pay more than 16k for a used S at this point in time just because I know the value is dropping as people try to unload them for the new v4.

I saw a 2016 1299S for 18K with 1200 miles on it a few months ago, and it had warranty on it till next May. There were a few 15S's available for about 16K. Dealer Demos were 21k+ with more mikes on them.

I think the low point or bottom for the 1299 will be 10k to 11k for the S and 8 to 9k for the base in 6 to 7 years time

2 Months ago I purchased a 2015 1299 S (3400 Miles) with a few upgrades already installed for $17,800 he was asking $20K

As a reference, I purchased a used 2016 1299S last month. The bike had 153 miles and aside from the DP Fender Eliminator kit it was factory. I paid $17,500, the local dealer offered to sell me a new 2017 S for $22,600.

You got a good deal. Living in Vermont must have had something to do with it.

I agree, I got a great deal. I was looking for an 1199S originally because I assumed that was more in my price range. But I actually found the 1299 on eBay. The Buy It Now price was set at $19k and his reserve price for the auction was $17,500.

But in all honesty what really solidified the deal for me was that the owner was also here in Vermont. I was able to go see the bike in person before buying and didn't have to deal with shipping. Still, anyone could have been the winner of that auction for the $17.5 price.

You're lucky I wasn't in the market at the same time, I would have bid you up to at least $18,500. Lol

Well done

What's the year and milage on yours?
Significant mods?

2017 - 32XX miles - Bike is literally in perfect condition

Mods: Levers, clear clutch cover, gas cap, race seat, tinted windscreen, radiator covers, tail tidy, bar ends.

Oh wow. I would have happily slapped 500 on top of the offer from your dealer if I wasn't out of the country for another 5 months or so. LOL.

Are you looking to jump on the V4 or why are you trying to sell?

Just went to the dealer to see what they said since I had some free time on Saturday. I am obviously curious about the V4 and if it's amazing then I'll want it. But at $16,500 I wouldn't even consider selling my bike.

I ended up putting a refundable deposit on the V4 just so that I would guarantee myself a first batch delivery if I do go that route. Having said that, I'm absolutely hoping that I don't love the V4 and will happily keep my 1299S.
