V4 and V4R motor

My understanding is the slipper causes most of the wear. I believe you can get different springs to decrease the wear, but then it's not as smooth.
Having said that, the slipper in my S1000RR is smooth as butter, wet, and didn't need a single minute of maintenance in 10k race miles...
I've tried the other two springs but I was occasionally getting complete wheel lock as I turned in and when the rpm's dropped. It may be smoother with EBC to minimum and one of the alternate springs but I had enough moments to abandon trying to find out.

This is unfortunate. One would expect better from DP endorsed products and STM… perhaps it’s a common issue with dry clutches in general.

I don't think the V4R is homologated for BSB (that's why I bought mine)

Ironically the 1100 is allowed...
Are you sure I know the 1100 is allowed in thunder sport but the 1100 isn’t allowed in BSB it’s got to be the R 1000cc limit rule

It's pointless, the benefits are very marginal, and the negatives fairly high.

Benefits:
1. Engine oil doesn't get contaminated with clutch material.
2. Clutch plates don't 'drag' in oil, so tiny increase in engine power.
3. Easier to carry out maintenance.

Cons:
1. Requires far more maintenance.
2. Very short life span.
3. 'Grabby' when launching the bike.
I’ve raced a season with the dry clutch and really like it, and didn’t have must issues with it , just kept it cleaned, but it’s a STM and the guy that installed it did a lot of work for STM back in the day with Ducati’s, So he set mine up completely different that the way it came from STM

I have an S with a dry clutch. Haven’t had any of these issues. My biggest issue is it’s noisy and annoying.

I'd love to hear more!

Tbf, mine has done approx 2.8k miles, so not terrible, but would love a few pointers on setup.

I'm 99% sure. They even changed the championship name from Super Stock 1000 to Super Stock. And I think the V4R comes in above the price cap, which is £32k, hence not homologated/allowed.

The 1100s are allowed, but have to run Motec and no rider aids. Fraser Rogers was on the Aprilia 1100 last season.

Cheers for that , I didn’t know it was allowed, I thought the had allowed the Aprilla in but he couldn’t score points or podiums with the bike
