Indeed I received it on last thursday. I am now waiting for a better weather to ride it (I only did 15km till now, to bring it home)... Hopefully on end of next week...

Congrats! Looks great!

Congrats! Look forward to hearing your ride impressions when the weather cooperates for you.

Dry roads today, but cold (4°C). At last I had a ride on my V4.

I did not look for performance of course (cold + brand new bike & tires), and DTC was on max value. What I can tell for now in comparison to my 1199 :
- engine easier to manage at low rpm ;
- correct torque at low revs, correct power under 6000rpm (looking forward using it at full power !) ;
- chassis seems as easy and agile.

Suspensions are good (some are affraid of the change of brand).

Nice. Interested to hear more about your comparison. I do have a 1199 and wondering what the difference would be compared to the V4.

Just be honest - what do you think about the looks ? I haven't seen the V4 in person but from what I've seen in pics the looks are a step back.

Honestly, on overall details, I prefer the look of the V4 :
- more agressive ;
- more beautiful front look underlined by LED eyebrows, close to the look I gave to my 1199 on racetracks ;
- beautiful rear.

Only detail on which 1199 is better : the exhaust, looking HUGE to me on the V4. But, that is certainly due to Euro 4 requirements. but still, I prefer V4 exhaust than that of GSXR or Panigale 959...

Guybrush - are you anywhere near La Ciotat? The road between it and Cassis is amazing through the park! Enjoy the bike, it looks great!

I used to live close to La Ciotat. Road betweek La Ciotat and Cassis is indeed amazing (provided that there is no wind ;) ). Now I am 300km north

Thanks for the pics. Rims and front mudguard I like them more than the “S” ones. Ohlins suspension are badass looking, anyway Showa and Sachs are not so bad looking. I use the bike mostly on track, so no electronics needed on Dampers. I chose the base cause of that, and with the extra money I saved I can buy nix 30, ttx36 and steering damper.

Edit: the red part under the seat is the fuel tank, so close to exhaust pipes.

thanks for the pic, i ordered the base model as well, shopping around for tail tidy now and already bought the DP LED rear indicator, i love the front mudguard red actually, exhaust will be the last mod as full system akra is about 7K here in australia....

Can't wait to pick up the bike next month and spend time to understand and blend with the bike before bring it to Phillip Island for a good run....

Freezing cold and wet roads. But couldn't wait. Very first ride with V4 base

Thank for sharing ..you wouldn't survive in most US city riding like that though, certainly not Charleston SC. They kill a motorcyclist here every single day :,-/.

Only time I get on my bike anymore is when I'm suited up and head straight for the back roads to shread. I don't commute, I don't even "cruise" here ...It's sad.

I used to love flying over the Ravenel when I lived in Mt. Pleasant. That was several years ago now and I haven't been back. I'd imagine traffic is a bit worse.

Italy/Sicily has little to no road rage, you just get on with it and that is why Sergio could ride that way. Once you have been there and driven/riden on the roads you would see its the norm and they have less accidents then we do in North America.

Sergio the roads you were on were a combination of smooth and rough? Did you adjust the suspension at all for the ride? Please tell me the Electronic Suspension of the V4 S is not needed for fun back road and mountain rides! :)

Exciting times :) ...I've never actually been there but this is one of my favorite dealerships to follow since I met them years back at an Indy GP. One of the main reasons, because they're Track oriented and very involved !!

Who's bike is this, are you on here? lol

Hi Cavlino, I did not touch the original suspensions settings, as long as the trip has been cold and wet, and I don't like too much to look for performances in open traffic roads. Btw the fork is pretty good, and fast to copy rough asphalt. Rear dumper is a little bit hard for my tastes, but i guess a big power needs a stiff rear shock. I tested also a V4 S of a friend end of mine, and must say the feeling is so and so. This cause of me, of course, because o do prefer usual suspension on a fast street bike. In my opinion the semi active suspensions better match with a touring or cruiser bike.
Just my opinion.

Ciao.

Very interesting and informative, Grazie Sergio.
