I just got a quote from another dealer $406 parts and labor for first service. Now I know why they wouldn’t throw in first service when I bought the bike... actually @Jake this is ur dealer. They’re just too far to make the price difference worth it.
I have a couple things for them to fit to the bike so it might be a $1,000 in labor for the first service. I’ll be supplying the parts as I purchased them at a deep discount
Clear clutch, tall windscreen, frame protection, rad guards $$$$$
I’m at my vacation house until the tyrant rulers of my home state allow us to reopen for business.. and I’m not setup to work on the bike here. This V4 May live here for a while b4 I ship it back up north and I just want to get it hopped up. $400 or so in labor is ok for me now that I decided to not go after the Akra exhaustOnly thing that takes more effort to install from your list, are the radiator guards, but the others are pretty easy, take about 2hrs in the day and you could save yourself an easy $400 there probably.
Precisely. One day I’d like to come check out your facility. Both you can do yourself for a lot less and you get to keep your dignity. Paying a dealer for an oil change? Now you’re in anal territory and you really want to be on the right side of that deal.
They probably lived in an area with fluoridated water flowing through deteriorating Lead pipesIt’s just a bit weird these days. Just saw a video of some task challenge where they asked 10 high school students (male)to change a tire 8 failed completely. That’s pretty embarrassing from an evolutionary perspective.
I would think plugging it in and resetting the service lightWell, what’s the rest of the work?
Typing up the invoice. DuhWell, what’s the rest of the work?
My local dealership throws in the 1st service for free with the purchase of a new bike. I had to file a warranty claim recently. At first, I was told that my claim wasn’t covered because the part was a wear and tear item. I appealed and Ducati NA covered it as a curtesy. I don’t know for sure but I suspect that having all of my services (600 mile service and an oil change after a track season) performed at the dealership helped.

It’s why AAA is so popularThis has been happening for a while. I had college clasmates back in 97-01 that couldnt write a check, change a tire, run a lawnmower etc etc etc.
I have a 33yr old employee who had no idea how to use a ratchet strap. His life revolves around playstation.
As for the service cost, its assinine. Change the oil and ride.
