V4 generating a lot of heat

Its not the exhaust, its the enormous motor under your legs and just enough cooling to be okay under track speeds. The bike is meant to fly, including cooling itself.

The V4R fairing kit is an (expensive) option for the 1100s. This fairing was apparently designed to increase air flow and thereby whip away engine heat by a significant amount better than standard. However have not heard any feedback how effective it is in practice. Hopefully this link will illustrate...

Am not getting any meaningful heat issues on the V4R even yesterday out in relatively warm weather at varying speeds. Can only surmise that S and base are hotter (ie the gills and other changes on the R work) or that the heat of the twins over the years has muted my nerve response!

I’m UK based, also have the left thigh heat problem on mine.
I wear a full leathers but during the heatwave we had this summer it was enough to be pretty uncomfortable, red skin etc.
I’ve done four hours on it today with no issues now the weather has cooled down.
I have Akras and but it’s still seriously hot, I’ve noticed no difference between them and the OEM system whatsoever.
It is what it is, a compromise but everyone seems to have a different fix, I’m just ignoring it and loving the bike!

I’ve put the 2020 fairings on my 19, absolutely no difference regarding heat, if anyone buys them don’t for the heat reason!
