V4 Reservation Dealer Incentives ...?

Hey guys, it's been quite some time since I've posted around here.
I'm shopping around for the best deal I can get on a base model V4 and this is the best deal the local dealer can give......it is loaded with fees........do you guys think I can get a dealer to sell the new V4 w/o these fees?

(I cropped the picture to eliminate the dealer's name as I'm not trying to bash anyone but when I lived in NY, dealers would often drop the fees to make the sale as where in FL they seem less likely to do so......what do you guys think?)
Maybe try negotiating with your dealer? If you don't like the answer, try another dealer? Really no point asking this here... None of us are "your dealer", nor "you" to give you an accurate answer.

Thanks for the reply......I guess the point I was trying to inquire about was to the "general consensus" of the forum members as to their opinion as to wether they thought I could get a dealer to "waive" the dealer fees as my local dealer hasn't implied they'd do so.
With the V4 being the "hot model" at the time I'm just wondering if dealers would really waive those fees as it's just "money in the bank" for them.

If anyone has any opinions or tips in my asking future dealers about the waving, I'd like to hear it and arm myself.

Thanks guys!

exact same experience as first time Ducati buyer dealership feedback appears to be demand/supply = FU in terms of incentives thoughts cheers ride safe

GoShow95, yeah I'm thinking it's gonna be near impossible to get those fees waived.

I think it just adds to the "dealership=stealership" feeling most of us have.

I think I'd tend to be much more inclined to support my local dealer if they waived those fees during a m/c purchase and gain my support rather then buy the bike from them and then never set foot inside again unless a warranty issue forced me to.

It's a shame this is the way it is as it seems some people managed to get the fees waived while others cannot. (and the fees are quite high at near $1500!)

~Enough crying......thanks guys.

Hey NG01, which dealer you have placed an order with?
I have placed an order with Fraser Motorcycles City and they are not ready to give any benefits.

Thanks NG01 for the information. It's the first time I'll be owning a Ducati and also I am new to the motorcycling scene here in Australia. So, I am unaware on how should I proceed. I'll surely check on their FB page.
Thanks.

Imo much better to build up a relationship with a dealership that actually wants your business then what factory backed docwa is offering which is piss poor.

No thanks

Guess things are different on your part of OZ, down here desmo owner club is allies with dealer and register in italy. Anything goes wrong go for dealer and can't be solved then club president step in to help solve the problem by pass the counter staff or incharge.

I had problems with my 1st ducati previously and end up dealership top management step in to override their own rules book to get it down for me. happy customer is a return customer. V4 is my 3rd ducati in 4th year.

Fraser Ducati in Sydney city is awesome, store manager ensure all after sales service is guarantee satisfy.

I think your local dealer should give you a bike for free, you seem like a nice guy

Or tell you to .... off and don't come back

This is a .... thread!

Why does this thread exist? You know the drill - wait for a leftover or pay very close to retail for Ducati (unless you have connections)

This is exactly why this thread exists ...you don't have to open it...don't bother helping anyone else on here SMFH

Exactly, if you have a local DESMO club they should be an extension of their local dealer and give each other full support. I've lived in 2 cities where this was the case and it was great, Dealers even hosted track events and us members got discounted deals. In turn all service and most parts where picked up at our dealer and everyone was a happy family.

Personally, if a dealership is not track oriented or making an effort to get folks in the door then I'm not interested in giving you my business.

To each his own, I have my standards and I believe in customer service and expect a certain vibe when I enter a high end store to spend money on a high end motorcycle.

I don't publicly bash a dealer I've noticed abusing the "Ducati experience" , I just stop visiting their store.

Hey thanks I guess that's what they mean by ducatista starts before you even get the ....... bike Don't understand the attitude here not going to apologize for not being a multi-millionaire with m/c fleet Apparently the "Ducati experience" involves dealing with condescending d/heads FU

Valid question... I didn't have to negotiate with my local dealer I simply asked the question, what is the price for the V4 Base out the door if you want me to come and put a deposit on it?

They let me know they usually charge x$ for freight but they would only charge y$ to cover their costs and that is it, they would not charge documentation or PDI (handling) fees.

Simple enough, I said OK based on that I will drop in to give you a deposit.

I have several options for Dealers, my local one is only 20min away but I have several Dealers within a few hours away.

It was very refreshing to be able to deal with my local dealer (I have not purchased a bike from them before) versus having to travel to some other location.

I normally purchase bikes based on the dealership/owner/service experience and have been dealing with the local Triumph/BMW store for over 20 years.

Its fantastic when you can have a Dealer you can trust, know they will make things right if something slips thru the cracks.

I really wish they carried Ducati and I have been trying to consider a BMW S1000RR in order to remain with that Dealership but the V4 is a game changer!

Good luck and keep us posted on your experience(s).

Well you would save almost $3k right off the bat by just writing a check for the thing instead of financing. That's a game changer all by itself. That's like the difference between a base model and an S.

When I bought my 959 in April 2016, my dealer told me he didn't care if I walked in with a suitcase of cash - the price was the price... I got a good deal in the end

Did you even look at what he posted? In his price breakdown there are total finance charges close to $3k because he's only coming up with $3k down for the bike. There's no point in throwing a fit about a few hundred dollars in delivery fees when the bulk of what you're paying over MSRP are interest and finance charges because you're not paying cash.

I don't care what your dealer told you; as long as you can do third grade level math, you don't pay any of that when you walk in with "suitcase of cash." There simply aren't finance charges when you write a check for the full amount. I can't believe people can't understand that.
