V4 Reservation Dealer Incentives ...?

Steve, I don't think that people don't pay those fees when they're buying. but when you said "fees" and I looked at the printout you posted, the finance fee was the only one that jumped out as something out of the ordinary.

Furthermore, you're implying that I'm somehow putting down someone who is not paying cash. Let me be clear on this: there are all kinds of reasons that people finance a purchase and it's none of my business. People can do whatever they want with their money. Rather, my point is that you're complaining about small money in fees when the giant fee is the finance and interest (and it looks like my point is being lost here). It's like you're complaining about poison ivy on the back of your hand and totally ignoring the gunshot wound in your thigh.

And as far as the third grade math comment, that is specifically to someone who pays cash somehow getting duped into paying finance charges as well. That's not directed at you but rather the person who said that even if you pay "with a suitcase full of cash" everyone pays the same amount at the end of the day. Well, there aren't finance charges and interest tacked on if you pay cash.

Additionally, some of those fees are state mandated and while most times the dealer will simply pay them out of their pocket, clearly your dealer feels that they don't have to because this bike is in demand.

Finally, like others have said, if you just wait a while and wait until all the people who have to have the first bikes in the country all get theirs, your dealer will be much more willing to work with you on the price so that they can move some when they're harder to move. It doesn't make any sense for them to discount a bike to you now when there are five people behind you willing to pay the MSRP and everything else in full.

Yes your statement was rather arrogant and you did come off negative.

Fact of the matter is that most on this forum will finance a motorcycle, for whatever reason. I'm sure some can actually pay cash and chose not to. In my case in a real estate investor and rather my cash tide up with a ROI than pay cash for a motor cycle. I don't mind paying 0% to 1.9% interest over 3 to 5 years, that's nothing compare to what we're most concerned with ...the dealer fees that come with most exotic purchases and why this varies so much between all the dealers. Not referring to taxes, licensing or even doc fees.

In regards to financing, yes you guys should shop for the best interest rate your credit history will command. I DO NO BELIEVE IN financing add-ons, so don't add full exhaust and all those accessories or even first service, those i'd definitely at cash !

Me personally, my goal is always MSRP out the door at the least !! I was on the fence about the picking up the V4 so soon because I am content with my 1199 but, the dealer (not my local) told me their incentive offer and icing on the cake was MSRP out the door without me asking.

I get it.......thanks for the replies.

It was suggested I try a specific credit union of which I've now done- should have an answer by tomorrow, as they offer 1.9% for highly qualified buyers (of which I should be.)

I fully understand the V4 will be in high demand and dealers really have no incentive to retract any fees.
My local dealer is new to me (I'm actually new to them) as I'm not originally from Florida and I'd love to form a relationship with them as I paint motorsports art etc and like to connect with everyone.

Anyways- thanks guys for the words.....I hope to be a V4 owner in the near future.
(~ but I do love the scheme on the 959 Corse edition!!)
