Sorry this is probably a stupid question but can’t find any mention in the manual

When using dynamic mode, are the individual clicker settings for compression and rebound still adjusted in the fixed mode? There are no actual clicker settings available under dynamic unless I’m missing them.

I might be wrong, but the way that I understand is that when on dynamic (both regular and custom) the parameters on compression and rebound are determined by the software for each condition/state of the bike

Correct, in Dynamic it is all set by the stock settings from Ducati.
In Custom Dynamic you can change the base setting for the different categories (still not traditional rebound/compression).
In Custom Fixed you will find your traditional rebound and compression.
You have those choices for each of the three modes.

Call Dave Moss, or get a virtual sesion.

no....the bike’s menu, not the adjustment of suspension components.
sometimes it just takes a few motivation to go to next level....does that make sense?

in the menu, you have 2 modes only..
fixed
dynamic

then under both of those you click to select your preferences for that mode ..

When I bought my mountain bike they set the sag with me sitting on the bike. Obviously same bike, heavier guy, would require a different setting. So why do we set the V4 up without the rider's weight on board? (Btw I don't know anything about suspension - pretty sure it was sag they set on my mtb.)

You set the sag on your bike the same way, search for “motorcycle sag setting” on YouTube, you will find dozens of videos

Guys this thread has helped a lot. I now understand static sag is just the first step towards determining the optimum setting. Can anyone point me to a correct sized Ohlins tool?

Hey mate, not sure what they charge in Sydney, but in Canberra, the suspension guy known around town charged me $50 to do a setup. I've never really touched my suspension in the past, but decided to take a bit more interest with this bike. After doing heaps of reading/learning, I decided just to take it in and get it done by someone in the know... and he gave me some tips for playing with the other settings to fine tune it.

Yes I'm the same. Know nothing, interested in learning. And there's a Duc mechanic half an hour away at Penrith that I plan to visit. Yesterday I spent a few hours reading the manual, thumbing through the DES settings, and taking notes. It was worthwhile but flattened the battery. The crappy charger that came with the bike has not recharged it so looks like today's task is finding a decent 5A lithium charger.

Ouch Re: battery. Yeah, I've been nervous through Covid... I usually do 400Km a week, I think I've done that in 3 months, so I keep chucking the charger on each week, and so far I've been lucky.

The Suspension section (actually all the sections) of Lee Parks's book "Total Control" is a pretty good read.

Thanks I've ordered the book. Bought a CTEK and it revived the battery in 30 minutes. Phew! Let that be a lesson boys and girls, when the "Low Battery" light comes on it's not kidding. Lithium batteries are very different.

I am lucky to live in Cali (not very many things you can say that about lol) so when I went to make a virtual appointment with Dave Moss I found out he would be about an hour away from where I live that week. He set me up in less than 15 minutes as he knew the bike thoroughly and set up street for street and sport for if I am going to race and not see him first. The main thing I remember was the sag was supposed to be 40 and was actually 10. Fixing that coupled with the seat shaving brought me down to closer to my old ninja height so that was great but also my street riding was JUST BETTER. Anyone who has the chance to see him, in person or virtually, should do so

this is what I've bought from the ohlins technical sales staff :
