Has anyone used the ventura rack system for the Pani yet,,.? is it easy to install...?

thanks

I genuinely don't know which is more shocking. That Ventura would bother to design a rack for the Panigale or that someone would consider fitting it!!!

better than a tank bag or tail pack, no risk of damage to paint or rubbing from straps etc, better for the handling and alot easier to manager luggage for a 5 day trip to nurburg and SPA... it can be taken of lol ! it's not permanent !

but i guess you have a much better system.?..I am all ears ..?

I use the Ventura system for longer trips with stay-over. It's true it kills the Pani-look, but for sure it offers you a comfortable ride with the possibility to bring along lots of goods.
The system is very stable at high speeds (when I go to Germany some parts of the highway don't have speed-limits ) and I really don't like driving with a backpack.
Very easy to install (even possible to remove the system partially upon arrival).

yeah, be forewarned: the tail bag is good, but it will damage your paint if not affixed loaded properly... don't ask how i know.

BTW, anyone who has a major problem with bags on this bike isn't interested in ridding it distance. that's your prerogative as there are others here who are in fact interested doing so.

That's why I only use it with the passenger seat! :)

I used a Kriega US20 for a 4 day trip and it was a proper nightmare.
I will be buying the ventura rack after seeing another 1199 getting around with one.

I bought the Ventura pack rack for my Pani Tri as I am planning a 10 day 4000 mile trip in march. It is easy to fit and remove, is stable at speed as others have said and you can just remove the top frame and leave the L brackets mounted if necessary. I don't work for or know the company personally but it is good quality kit made here in NZ.

Strong back and a backpack.....then the bike still looks awesome even though I'm crippled for 5 days. :p

Once we have done SPA trackday, which is a MEGA MEGA circuit, we are off to Cochem in germany for 4 days, at that point the ventura rack will come off and the lovley lines of the Pani will be back in place........cannot be hard to remove 5 bolts lol....

SPA SPA SPA .......................mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's a tough one, I even hate putting the tail bag on but on short journeys it can be useful, and the way it's fitted I'm confident it's not coming off under acceleration. It's never scratched the paint but probably because of short distances.

Agree pillion seat is the way to go to use it when on long trip. I also bought the tank bag which is quite capacious and as long as you take out the stiff inner wall is comfortable (nice tip I picked up from someone on this forum), as again well fixed under acceleration (the trade off is you need to remove the ignition cover to fit it).

I bought a Ducati rucksack anyway because sometimes I just want to take a laptop somewhere and a messenger bag isn't really compatible with speed, flaps around to much IMHO, and it doesn't fit in the tank or tail.

Perhaps someone could take a leaf out of Harley's book - my fatboy has a quick release rack that is incredibly useful and when it's not on the bike there's virtually no evidence of it at all.

Final thing - another tip that I picked up here which made me smile - when carrying my iPad mini I put it in the back protector pocket of my jacket so no luggage required :)

Have a mate with a Lotus, he is the luggage vehicle, it gives him an excuse to be out of the house and away from the gremlins... I mean kids...

All in the name of safety... As for tack days and spa, get one of these... Heheheh
