Ducati Zurich seemed to be one of the first dealers to receive a V4 Speciale. Disappointingly, it is now evident from this video that we are back to the "Hey did you realise one of your headlights is out" cyclops syndrome. Wish they had kept the dual low/high beam arrangment of the xx99. Sounds good though!!

they have one in NY i say it last week, it looked great especially with the full system on it.

Laying over that tank is going to be like dry humping a hippo (from what I've heard)

It sure sounds great! Can't wait to see the R and more importantly how it'll stack up in WSBK

I'm looking at these videos and I'll say it again: I hope that this V4 gets everyone's panties so wet that it brings down prices of the 1299 Superleggera about $30k.

I'm sure that the performance will be out of this world but the design still needs to grow on me (like the 999R, I'm sure it will). That tank reminds of the round tank on the early Monsters...

I saw/heard the bike up close and personal today at Ducati Zurich. The sound (with Akra race exhaust) is fantastic, similar to the MotoGP machine and VERY loud! The EURO 4 exhaust-note will certainly be disapointing.

Wasen't a big fan of the design on pictures. But in real life, the bike actually looks pretty good - at lest the Speciale with all the DP-pars. Still not much of a fan of the fairing extension/tank combination plastic piece. And I cannot understand, why they left the frame in silver instead of either black or magnesium color. It just looks odd meeting with the black subframe.

The headlight has an LED daytime running light on the left hadlebar (like my Monster 1200S, 2017). In bright conditions, the main headlight will be shut off and only the LED light will be running. The bike switches to full headlight mode automatically in tunnels, garages, woods or at night. I think this partially compensates for the "right only" headlight.

All in all, a nice looking machine, but I will keep my 1299S for the street. The new V4 cannot compete in terms of low-rev torque with the "old" V2 which matters more on the street than top end hp.

Will be looking into a used V4 in 2-3 years to replace my 1199R track weapon.

Meh, my RC8 had a pretty tall tank/seat combo. Wasn't even noticeable while on street or track. One of the best handling bikes I've ridden.

Don't listen to everything you hear in AK.. some of those people have a screw or two loose.. :D:D

Praise the motorcycle gods for the headlights staying off in bright conditions. Hate the look of the single headlight running at all times. That was a huge plus for me having both headlights on with the 1x99's.

True dat...it's the End of the Road for many!

...and don't get me wrong...I'll be first in line for an R model!

Better quality video from Zurich here:

And another from Italy, though looks like they didn't bolt on the right hand silencer particularly well!!

Ducati New York have received a Speciale as well. All of these videos feature XXXX/1500 bikes as they are not part of the production run. Skip to 21 mins in, unless you want to hear the waffle beforehand

On Thursday, November 7th, Cross Country Ducati in Metuchen, NJ will have the S and the Speciale on display.
