today i went by my dealer to ask about aftermarket exhaust and was told you shouldnt as it may avoid warranty. if they can prove that its the exhaust fault etc...

it doesn't give me confidence to buy another exhaust and the stock exhaust may be good but long term i can see it falling apart and leaks thru the seal.

how do people deal with aftermarket parts? specially ones that effect the bike ie. battery, exhaust, led halogen kits.

do you go thru it?
is it just being ducati wants there bikes to run to perfection for customers?
or a ploy to own the market of ducati as Itunes apple own iphone ipad market?

its a ploy. if your in the states which i see your not so i dont know for you but there are laws that protect us here in the states from that bs.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a ploy but an aftermarket exhaust from one of the reputable mfgs. shouldn't be an issue. I've found that the difference between any warranty claim being painful or painless is dependent on your relationship with your dealer. Since your dealer already seems to not want to work with you on the issue, I'd find another.

In that same vein, I feel that if there is an issue with the bike that's directly as a result of an aftermarket part, Ducati shouldn't be responsible for it. Not at all saying that's anybody's intent here, but I know of people who installed ECU maps on a bike that fried the electronics and damaged the engine and became pissy when the OEM was reluctant to give them a brand new motor.

They have to say that. How do they know your not going to install a set of flowmasters or something stupid like that. The pani does have a nice stock system but the Termis are amazing

You implying you want the Akrapovic? Way too pricey, and then you have to figure out how the ECU will work with it, unless you dump in even more $$. Termi slips are just fine for me (since they came with the bike) and that Akra is nasty looking too. Oh- forgot many of yoos guys like it, sorry - to each their own.

Waiting to see what the infamous Arrow puts out personally.
