Have posted a similar comment before but just for the record I have had my Tricolore for eighteen months I have ridden from the UK to Ducati World Week at Misano with a pillion, I went to Brno GP have done a few track days and plenty of miles around the UK and not a single issue, no lose bolts no fogging display no starting problems just miles and miles of fun ?

Sounds to me you have a starter issue. Mine was replaced when I had it only for one after taking delivery. Once replaced and about a week later not having it, been good every since. Thx Shawn

It happens. If you look at the < insert manufacturer here > forums, you'll probably find similar posts......

not starting is part of the soul, you know the joys of ownership. welcome to ducati making mechanics out of riders since 1946

I've had my S for all of two weeks and now it won't start. I did literally nothing. Started it in the garage, rolled it down the driveway to let a passenger on, turned it off. Tried to start it, and now it just cranks and pumps, nothing else. Tried disconnecting the battery and letting it sit, removed the charcoal canister, all with no luck. guess it's getting towed tomorrow...

Any fuel in it?

theory:

rolling out the garage into the driveway, stopping, causing the fuel to splash into the line towards the charcoal canister. soaking that thing, having the fumes in the airbox - too rich mixture. passenger hops on, you start, too wet mixture won't get a spark. you're pissed. call ducati, they pick up the bike, trailer travel vents the airbox, all fresh and clean, bike is off the trailer, starts right up.

Might be your gasoline in your area.
I'm from Ontario and my bike runs great here. Starts perfect.
When i was at the tail of the dragon in June, the gas there is so ...., my bike would just crank and crank and sometimes wouldn't start. My friends panigale also had an issue, also a guy I met there also had the same issue.

watch

Is it just me or are there some right ...... up people on this planet????

no fuel in the canister, seemed dry. i did try starting it last evening to no avail, so maybe the extra drying time solved the issue.

Only 2 Pani's around here, both 2012, both ridden pretty hard, not a single issue with either. :) Now there's a jinx right there. :(

any vehicle forum will be full of issues stated, and while they may be mostly true, they are not the majority. I am confident that the masses who have panigales are fine, and I am one of them! My bike have been good to me, really good to me, knock on wood!!!!!!

I have had my 1199S for 7 months now. I am taking the bike to 12,000 km service next week. No issues, had to bleed the clutch once. The best bike I have ever had. I have done 31,000 km with 2011 Diavel, zero issues with that bike too.

That might be the altitude at the gap! I miss the gap! Must go next year!!

I had a Yamaha R1 that had a whole host of electrical problems, including a smoked fuel pump relay, followed by a failed fuel pump (imagine that). Never did I go blasting Yamaha, or did I ever think for a minute that it wasn't a great bike. I just spent an afternoon, took it apart, figured out what was wrong, and fixed it.
