What bike would you get.

I dont see why not. It's not a full blown Corse machine, just a mostly Corse machine. I *imagine* the laptop/software required to interface with the electronics is included since Wyman is no longer going to be running a Ducati and doesn't need it. It's a SBK, not a GP machine, parts are available and going down wouldn't end its riding abilities forever.
Its got the MM kit. That's not for the timid.

Definitely sounds like a pain in the ass, but I feel it's likely been dialed in to "good enough" by the Wyman team. He also very regularly swapped between Corse motors and stock motors due to crashes, so I'm willing to bet the MM suite on that bike has maps for both Corse and stock motors that *should be* relatively easy to swap between.

That's fair. The MM kit I have from BSD came with a bunch of stuff. I think the initial setup map was to fire the bike and get it running then tune from there and then some canned maps. The WINTAX 4 and SYSMA software are a bit much if you're not a geek which I am certainly not but I'm sure there are a few tuners out there that could assist. Decent deal for 100K. Does it come with spares?

Not sure. I contacted Kyle's chief mechanic looking to get my grubby hands on as much of the bike as I could. He made it sound like they had a whole mess of spares to go with it. Unfortunately, it looks like Wyman misinterpreted me saying I'm military and blew me off. He didn't get that when I say, "I'm active duty military," it doesn't mean I'm poor, but instead means I make terrible choices with money and often buy things I can't afford.

Which is a bummer, because I'm one of the few people dumb enough to actually buy a bike like that. Got blown off by Ducati Corse last year too. Nobody wants my money, lmao

I think you may have avoided jumping the shark! That kind of gear sounds a real PITA unless you are racing at a high level. Any bike that requires its own team of mechanics and wears a Ducati badge is way beyond my fun zone.

Bought this from Mavericks buddy, put a new seat on it, a bit of black spray paint, and lucky #13 and she’s a turn key ready to go race bike already set up for a rider my height and weight.

I feel like I stole it from him for the price, pretty sure the forks cost more.

Love this bike lol

Fun and easy to ride fast, sounds great, and cost so little that I can crash it over and over abs not care

Found out today Arch Motorcycles in LA is the US importer of Suters. The one that sold from Iconic Motorbikes earlier this year was sold for the mid 60s and the owner is looking to get rid of it.

Sounds like a solid investment cough cough!

Thats the problem when you buy oddballs, unless they have something people really want you have a very small market. The Suter has no pedigree or heritage to fall back on, and while it may be very cool to do laps on it you would have to be a real stroker aficionado to buy one. I actually think the price is reasonable for what it is but you are into Superlegerra territory and I know which one would be a better all round bike and more likely to retain some value in years to come.

You do realize it's missing the silencer?

Um, Suter has no pedigree?

Are you sure?

3x Moto2 world championships

Moto2 chassis supplier until 2018

THE go-to swingarm for any bike (OEM on BMW S1000RR Carbon Race)

They have done OK....

I think he means the MMX 500 specifically has no pedigree. But you are correct, Suter as a company has incredible pedigree producing racing machines. They're interesting because unlike many manufacturers, Suter will sell the common folk anything they make. If you want one, they'll up and sell you a Moto2 bike. Don't need any special references or hook ups. I've seen their Moto2 machines sell for 50k-ish secondhand so I'm not sure how much they are from the factory.

Sure, the company makes nice things but the bike itself? Its a tiny niche product that might make it to Jay Lenos garage as a curiosity but it doesnt have any lineage from say an RSW 250 or an NSR500 to make it really collectible and keep the resale up there. Not bagging the bike or the company but as I said I know where Id be spending my Superleggera dollars

I think that Suter is going to be VERY collectible, it’s a short production run engineering marvel.

I think that bike will eventually hold a place in motorcycle history.

If I was a more experienced rider I’d buy it for sure, maybe in a year I will.

But for now I think I have a pretty good game plan, that gixxer costs so little I don’t care how many times I crash it while I’m learning, it’s a full on VERY WELL SORTED championship winning race bike that’s already set up for my height abs weight.

And I have the Ducati ti take out a few sessions here and there as I progress as a rider.

Sometime next year I’ll build a track bike from the ground up, probably a Pierobon which I can get done as a 325 pound bike with 220 hp (so similar power to weight ratio as the Suter) but that has a full race tuned electronic package with programmable anti wheelie etc…that bike with every bell and whistle will be about $100k all in…probably a better bike than the Suter for $50k less.

Though certainly not likely to ever be a Collector piece.

I think the engine in that Suter will be legendary 20 years from now, pretty sure it’s imbued with black magic to get that much reliable power out of a 2 stroke lol…you damn near need to sign your soul away to get one hahaha
