King got an SL. 'Nuff said
Are you saying after 1 year you can have X blood alcohol content and be legal to drive...?
Not to sound like a martyr or saint which I am definitely not, any pointless death on a motorcycle should not be mocked or taken lightly.
Some of these new guys just don't know better. Some might be full of bravado, whereas other are just plain ignorant and have never had help or advise.
I have had 42 years of good motorcycling, and in return I try help any newbie that wants my guidance. I may not know everything, but can surely still help .
I always try promote safety gear, track schools and good reading material. I make a point to help with basics many of us take for granted.
If someone wants to listen , and I can save a life then all good.
The Dutch love rules. It's quite complex, but I try to keep it short:
17yo: You can take driving lessons 15hp max, and do the written exam.
18yo: Driving exam A1, you receive license for max 15hp.
20yo: You can take driving lessons for 48hp bikes, and do the written exam A2. If you already have A1, you can skip the written exam.
21yo: Driving exam, you receive bike license "Code 80", max 48hp. After 2 years you automatically receive a full bike license, without any restrictions.
24yo: Driving exam full license, unlimited bike choice.
People that smash up bikes, for being allowed to ride any size from the get go, make insurance rates for all of us go up. So people that bitch and moan about "freedom" fail to understand that aspect. You do pay and subsidize your rates for inexperience riders having that freedom. Insurance actuaries have it all figured out. You can't best them.
