What kind of camera do you shoot with?

Wow, there is some fun kit listed on this thread!

Nikon D800 with the following lenses:
24-70 f2.8
70-200 f2.8
2x converter
50 f1.4
60mm F2.8 Micro

D800 has incredible focus tracking on moving objects, but not really designed for too much sport/wildlife, it's more for landscape or portrait I think. Massive sensor (36mp) means a big strain on memory and slow write times to storage card. This limits your ability to just hold down the button and fire 8-10 frames a second. Instead it caps out about 4fps.

Leica M9 with 50mm f0.95 lens. Old style manual focus. Don't even TRY tracking a moving object with this. :)

Mamiya RB 67 Pro. What can I say I purchased it new and use to travel with it on vacation. Loading 220 film is lots of fun. ;)

Two Quality Units

Hi there. Put these in classifieds but just thought I'd chime in for the enthusiasts here. I presently have a Go Pro Hero 2 Motorsports Edition & Contour Plus GPS/HD for sale. Both are still in original plastic wrapping in box.
PM me if interested in either one.

Thanks for the input on both of them here. Interesting to see the mix of cameras people are using. Obviously I have not used either!

Sony cyber-shot DSC HX100V, great bridge camera and for a novice like me it has lots of "buttons" to play with! i also carry a small fuji fine pix for work and there,s an 8mp camera on my phone.

I have a Cyber-shot Digital Camera TX55. Getting a mount for it in a few days and will see how it performs behind the screen of my 999S :). I have to say that it takes excellent photos and I'm sure the video will be just as good. It has this built in 'Optical SteadyShotâ„¢ with Active Mode for blur-free movies'. So I will find out soon enough.

Model Highlights: 16.2-megapixel, Full HD 1080/60i movies, 3.3" OLED display, "Exmor R" CMOS sensor, 10 fps, Backlight Correction, 3D still image and 3D Sweep Panorama

Canon 7D (great for both stills and video)

Lenses
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L EF
Canon 70-300mm f2.8L EF
2x converter

Nikon D800 with various prime and zoom lenses. More recently a Nikon Coolpix A to carry around.. I just sold my Fuji X1 Pro. Also have a GP Hero 3.

iPhone 5.... lol. I used to have a dSLR and it was too annoying to take around, never had it on me when I wanted to take pics of something randomly.

Same here. Phone pics are good enough for me since I would not know how to use $1000+ SLR camera anyhow.

I seen friends' wives buying $1000-2000 (for the trend and look cool) camera but dont have a clue how to use them or bother to learn. They use auto and take pictures....

Canon 7D and 5D Mark 3
100-400mm f4
400mm F2.8
300mm F4

When I drag out the big lens everyone thinks I'm the photographer for the track day/race and starts asking how much the photos cost.

Nikon.(analog) but too much to carry, so mostly just GoPro Hero though looking to pick up a Sony or Fuji point & shoot.

I use a 5D3 and a 1D4 and an assortment of Zeiss and Canon L lenses, an OMD EM5, and a Go Pro 2 (or whatever the last one is called).

Just picked up the MotoGyroVision unit set up for a GoPro. It is a battery powered Gyro camera made for the GoPro I hade a trial run with it last Labor Day mounted on the tank at TWS. It works absolutely awesome. However I only got a coupe of laps in before I crashed at turn 10. Luckily I had the camera strapped on so it survived. With the the Gyro mount you can actually see how much the bike is leaning. Gives you or someone watching your video a great perspective of how you are ridding and how much lean angle you are using.
