What kind of camera do you shoot with?

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I use a Nikon D750 with various lenses. 35,50,85/1.8 24-70/2.8 and 80-200/2.8.

In the process of converting to Canon because the video autofocus is plain and simple, better. I didn't do as much video until last year but it's become a very big part of my personal enjoyment.

I only have one GoPro H3 which goes on either motorcycle or helmet but I'd like to add another GoPro H3 or 4 to the arsenal to at least have two points of view at any time.

Just bought the new Fly 360 It is very cool Shoots in 360 degrees. Once video is transferred to a computer or tablet you can move the screen around and see what is going on all around you.. This will be the new medium soon..

Revival post! Just started "seriously" shooting using a Hero 5 Black and a Canon 80D.

Sometimes:
Mamiya, Canon, and Nikon film cameras (occasional passion projects)
Canon full frame DSLR's
Fujifilm APS-C mirrorless
Panasonic M43 (mostly video)
Blackmagic Design (video)
iPhone
RED Hydrogen

Mostly nowadays:
Canon full frame mirrorless (vid and photo)
RED (video)
DJI (video)

Wow a RED Hydrogen? You own one of the weirdest /coolest phones ever made. You like it obviously? You ride with a full frame? Dedication. Your passion projects are capturing rides or you film other things and ride there? I mean, a Mamiya film camera. You don't pull out of your pocket and shoot the sunset riding one handed.

My video hardware on the bike:
Insta360 ONE 2
Autel Nano+ EVO Drone
iPhone
(GoPro crap forgotten and left home.)

Now I regularly see stuff that blows my mind. I don't mind having some decent shots. I'm still forging better systems. I'm not looking to ride with a film crew though. I'm staying hyper portable.

I used to shoot a lot of glamour (35mm and 6x7 film) and later shot (full frame digital with occasional APS-C Fuji) the (older style) centerfold for Superbike Italia. Portability is not that important to me in studio, though I often shot the RZ handheld lol. I still shoot film occasionally, but it's primarily for me, when I'm feeling nostalgic or I simply want to slow down/have a different aesthetic.

I'm a still photographer at heart but slowly adding video. I bought the RED Hydrogen based on their original plans to add modules to the phone, the cinema module in particular. Unfortunately, those plans got scrapped, but they gave a $1000 credit towards a Komodo as a consolation of sorts which is why I ended up with one of them for video (global shutter). I still use the Hydrogen for fun or 3D pics/vid, but Leia isn't supported on much so it's not easy to share unfortunately.

A few years ago, portability became an issue as I found myself shooting in Europe more, so I invested heavily into the Fujifilm ecosystem as I could carry a few bodies and several lenses in the space I could carry a couple of full frame DSLR's. I'm slowly migrating back to Canon as their full frame mirrorless bodies are smaller, very capable (8K, DPAF, outstanding focus tracking), and the RF lens system is smaller and sharper (and also fits the Komodo). I often travel with DJI Mavic and Ronin, so it's never going to all fit in a backpack, but for now, I'm still able to one-man band it. FWIW, I have my Canon R5 with "kit" lens on my most of the time, often while riding (not hardcore).

My eldest son does more of the on-bike footage and has Insta360, and the all latest GoPro kit as he is now sponsored (ambassador or something, IDK?) so I have access to that if I need it, but I find on-bike footage pretty boring after a while, so I don't shoot it very often. That might be different if I lived where you do, lol. He ends up borrowing my equipment much more often than I use his.
