KA Sensors Its a simple push/pull strain gauge built to spec for the MM system or Motec or whatever you want to order it for. It’s basically generic. No it is not going to work on a Mits or Siemens system unless you have one custom made. I have a pile of these things that came with different applications I have had.

All of the QS I have seen offered for the V2 V4 as aftermarket are rebranded generic strain gauges from one of the many electromechanical mfg. A lot of brands are the same unit with someone’s sticker on it.

I see.

I’m looking for alternatives to the Cordona QS that I have. I like it but I have a feeling it won’t last very long as I’m noticing more flex/play in the assembly compared to when it was new (only 1000 miles).

I might try HM next and see how that fares.

Unfortunately, you are limited to an application specific solution. Cordona, HM etc, all have an interface that allows plug and play with the stock ECU. The KA sensors that I have rely on the programmable interface in the ECU to control the QS function.

The interface box on the plug and play units takes the output from the SG and mods it into electrical signals the ECU recognizes. A sort of translator if you will. The TL shifter doesn’t need the box as it is a microswitch like the OEM.
The “shittyness” of the gearbox certainly doesn’t help the robustness of the QS. The force required to change gears in certain conditions beats up in the QS pretty good.

Most of the guys who bought these are not using them for their intended purposes (rapid gear changes at high rpm) which are relatively smooth. They use the QS everywhere and down low in the range, you can definitely get some clunky gearbox operation requiring considerable pedal pressure. The Cordona is quite flimsy compared to the BSD KA unit (red unit in the photo)
