Hi all, Just finished my 5th track on my 1299 race bike. Wondering if my wheelie control is working correctly.
On settings 2,3,or 4 if i'm in 2nd gear coming out of a slow exit corner , get on the throttle it seems to have no effect and rears up way to much and quickly to get any drive. In 3rd and 4th the front end comes up and down on full throttle almost bouncing. I'm using an aftermarket dash holder, on which the gyro is mounted . Is this normal or is there a fault. Help needed please.

Are you a pro rider? I mean throttle control still affects a lot. If you're not opening throttle fully until bike is almost upright, the thrust is heavy causing excess wheelies. I am also suffering the same problem. Rear spring was too hard for me and it got a better with softer spring.

But still I believe that with stock ECU traction control, power is heavily restricted until bike is almost upright, maybe 10-15 degrees lean and then the restriction is suddenly almost gone. And the bike rushes causing wheelies. TC to 0 and it keeps the line much better in exit. But I have to admit that I am not man enough to constantly drive with TC 0.

At mid field in club A grade races and improving. Wheelies have never been my thing , and cant really see the point, as you have no drive when the bike lifts past a certain point, probably 20 degrees. I've ridden my mates R1 and its wheelie control is much better than what my bike is doing ? Ive gone back to covering my rear brake and getting better results, but hey I thought the electronics would have made that technique redundant .

Is it possible the mounting angle is not 100% correct or should this calibrate its self . Not getting much help here?????

Personally, I find the WC useless. It's too unpredictable. I believe Sportrider magazine said the same when they tested it at Portimao.

That was what I was thinking , with it switched off , at least you know when the wheelie is going to come . Might try this in the future.
Thanks

I have found that on the track the Traction Control settings limit the bike much more than simply the Wheelie control..

At the track I run the TC setting at level three and the Wheelie control at level 2 (and that is with one tooth up in the rear) .. It does wheelie some but overall it pulls strong.. I always run it in Race mode street or track so I don't have any variation on the throttle response. If it is wheeling too much try shifting up a gear. The bike has a lot of torque and can usually pull pretty strong.

My settings as well.

I've found that wheelie control is unpredictable when there is an incline or decline...even slightly. It's never surprised me on flat ground.

It is definitely a harder bike to ride with anger than my old 2011 ZX10 * See my Avatar...
I had to relearn how to ride it quickly.. (Winding it out does no good) You just hit the rather hard rev limiter and then it's all she wrote.. You gotta short shift it...
It is weird to pull out of a corner in third gear instead of 1st or 2nd (like the Kawasaki ZX10) and listen to the motor and it sounds like it isn't even working hard. Meanwhile it is pulling like a freight train and the front end is coming up. It takes a deft throttle hand to control it when you don't have the TC set high. If you set the TC higher then it is a dog...

Totally different sensation and sound than any of the Jap bikes...:D

I just wish mine would run decent on the street. Mine just wont cruise along without loping and bucking and kicking..

Put a Rapid Bike module on it, problem fixed ,(for ever).

I have a rapid bike (it did make it run much stronger I also added the DP Akropiovic pipe with the UP Map no difference in town riding.....IN the last two years is has also had the ECU, The throttle bodies, and the throttle assembly all changed out.. It runs strong but just will not run smooth at all in city riding..Great on the track not so much around town It has been in the shop over 10 times last year alone No one can fix it.. Dealer cannot fix it Factory will not address it..
Oh and like many others it also stalls from time to time

I loaded Tuneboy on mine, no problem around town at any speed, no stalling and cries control. Well worth it for me.

Did you install the EVO, or Race model Rapid Bike . The Race version has preloaded ignition timing which is more aggresive than Evo, so maybe not suited for street .
